Short Property Description

Woolly Bush Farm is a regenerative urban farm in Albany, Western Australia. We are in the development stages of setting up vegetable beds to add to the existing worm farm. We also have chickens, young fruit trees, and make biochar.

Our aim is to create a viable urban farm based upon proven market gardening techniques which enrich our community, and which sits gently in a beautiful natural setting. Our mission statement is ‘Rest, Research, Restore’.

Accommodation is in a cute camper with a double bed, fridge and basic cooking facilities. There is a flush toilet nearby and shower/bath facilities in the house.

There is a beehive in a tree on the property close to the house so be bee aware if you have an allergy to bee stings!

Why I became a WWOOF Host

I’m making a lifelong dream come true here at Woolly Bush Farm, but I can’t do it on my own, and I want others to also get excited about the possibilities for the future of food production.

The farm is still in the establishment phase so volunteers who help to set up the vegetable beds, raised beds, irrigation, etc. will be part of a legacy which I hope will continue for a long time.

I’m a marine scientist and an artist; I’m passionate about education and love hearing about other people’s experiences and dreams.
