March- April 2019 it's garlic planting time, come on down. We are in South Gippsland, 1 hour and 45 minutes from Melbourne, 15 minutes drive from surf beaches. It is a stunningly beautiful area. We are 6 minutes from Korumburra town which has bus services daily to and from Melbourne. Aside from farm work we are both artists and I am a musician. My partner experiments with alternative technology. It's pretty interesting here. The accommodation is either 2 single beds inside the house or use of a caravan with a double bed and 2 singles. We hope the people who come and help us will be happy and really benefit from learning from our work and enjoying the local area, we ask people to do 3 hours work a day. We moved to our farm 3 years ago. It had been very neglected and we are in the early stages of restoring it. There are cattle agisted here. We are growing 5000 garlic plants, a vegetable and herb plot, olive, fruit and nut trees plus small scale agroforestry and the beginnings of a native flower area. The daily work includes weeding, mulching, cutting grass, planting, propagating, picking fruit in season. We are small scale but the work is constant. We are about to start work on a large shed November 2018 and also laying paving for a propagation area. I will study permaculture in 2019. We will add chickens and our own livestock in September 2019. We welcome people to enjoy staying with us, but we are very busy and we can't accept people who aren't able to follow direction and do their bit of work. We ask for 3 hours a day and suggest that this is done early in the morning before it gets too hot during summer. We also welcome your ideas. Work flow is roughly January  - Start picking Loganberries February - Pick and preserve stone fruit and tomato March - Make beds for garlic planting. Plant garlic. April-May - Work on maintaining vegetables and power beds. Weed and Mulch flower and vegetables May -  harvest pumpkins and other vegetables June July - complete new plantings of trees and vegetables August - We rest! September  - Weed and mulch flowers and vegetables Plant any late trees October - mulch and weed- pick flowers- check property for fire safety and snake safety November  - ensure water supply is organised for summer. December - Harvest garlic Throughout the whole year we are repairing fences, changing water supply for animals, building paved areas and shed infrastructure. We are also mowing and slashing grass throughout the whole year, creating compost and pruning, rotating crops. It is also likely that we will need some help in the house. Because we don't have a good shed we are doing lots of the seed preparation and produce in the house.... It gets a bit dusty!!

City/Town: half way between Denmark and Albany
Farming Methods: Biodynamic
Accommodation Type: Caravan, BYO Accommodation
Situated on 50 acres halfway between Denmark and Albany in Western Australia, and only 20Kms from Great Southern beaches makes adventuring in the surrounding wilderness accessible. Livestock on our hobby farm includes chickens, goats, cows and horses. Horse riding and management using natural horsemanship techniques is my passion.  I'm also currently exploring equine assisted learning to help me expand the ways my herd can help people achieve their best in an unusual and changing world. My herd and myself are dedicated Horsepower (formerly RDA) members who contribute to the Denmark community. Expanding our homegrown produce (currently vegetables, beef and recreationally sourced fish) to include fruit, lamb and pork is our next goal. We would love a WWOOFer (maximum 2 staying in a powered caravan complete with own fridge, AC and TV) to help with establishing our orchard, re-fencing, pasture management, re-vegetation, and enjoying natural landscapes with wonderful safe horses.

Situated just north of Newcastle on 1 acre, we are a suburban market garden applying biointensive and permaculture principles. We run 30 x 10m raised garden beds growing chemical free seasonal vegetables that we sell to private clients and the fortnightly Maitland Earth Market. Our farming principles are based on The Market Gardener Jean-Martin Fortier Master Class education and permaculture courses from Milkwood and Limestone Permaculture. We are a family of 5 with 3 children under twelve. Our children are home schooled and are required to help on the farm as part of their education. When we are not farming we spend time our time 4WD ing and walking local beaches, camping in the Barrington Tops mountains, bush walking Australia's top 100 walks, and boating and fishing inshore and offshore. Accomodation available is in a private bedroom with a double bed, cupboard and a personal bathroom and toilet.
