We are a small family run farm, organically breeding and growing heritage Chickens. As Organic Farmers, we use regenerative farming methods, and holistically manage the land to ensure sustainable living, healthy soils, and optimal animal welfare. We do not use any chemicals, artificial additives or antibiotics; to guarantee that our Chickens are happily grown the way nature intended. We have 160 acres 25km West of Albany, with a thriving vegetable garden grown in our own compost as well as adjisting cows which rotationally graze the pastures.

We moved in to this 100 acre property, situated between Pemberton and Northcliffe in the South West of Western Australia, at the end of last year. It is surrounded by stunning karri forrest and on the crossing of the Bibbulmun walking trail and the Munda Biddi cycling trail. I fell in love with this area whilst mountain biking the Munda Biddi and consider it the most beautiful forest area in WA, so couldn't resist the opportunity to come and live here when this property came on the market. We come from Europe, David from the UK and Annie from Belgium and we have traveled extensively and done a lot of trekking in the Himalayas,  New Zealand, France and Spain. But this country and forest is what we totally fell in love with. There are already very productive netted orchards and also many ponds and a lake for aquaculture. We have introduced bees and there are plenty of marron, the largest freshwater crayfish in the world and pretty tasty. We also have 21 cattle, 6 sheep, 8 chickens, and a couple of worm farms. Plenty of water is also a bonus in this country. We've got the vegie garden started and have plenty of zucchini, tomatoes, beans, chard and cucumber and corn nearly there! Projects include: Constructing and maintaining permaculture gardens and orchards, picking berries and fruit. Planting native flowering plants to introduce bees, propagating and seeding vegetables. Powerful new mulcher has arrived and we will be doing plenty of compost making as well as mulching the gardens and laying new gardens around the cottages. Marron and fish ponds need netting fixed and we want to look at further possibilities for aquaculture. Chickens need to get food sources established, so they have more opportunities to browse. vermiculture - we love worm juice for our gardens. Woodworking shed is getting organised and with a good supply of machinery, upgrading the cottages is next : making steps, verandahs and then an outdoor kitchen/entertaining area, etc. Looking after guests in several cottages on the property and chopping firewood to build up the winter supply is also ongoing. In the kitchen, we love our fermenting: tasty kombucha with the berries that we have picked and frozen or collecting fresh from the orchard; kefir to use with our cereal in the morning. We bake our own buns and make bread with the bread machine.

We are on 20+ acres of land backing on to a national forest, within walking distance to the beach and river. We are establishing a permaculture / eco-farm experience, that incorporates living in an environmentally responsible manner, working with recycled material, earth building techniques and establishing a self sustaining permaculture forest.
  • We have recycled 13 caravans, so they make up accommodation for guests and us. We plan on using this place to support community groups too.
Our plan is to develop this facility while we work with people and teach them how to incorporate some of these techniques into their own lives. We are in a town of 3500 people, 30 kms south of Nowra and 32kms north of Ulladulla. We are 2.5 hours drive from Sydney, 2.5hrs from Canberra, 9 hours from Melbourne and 13 hrs from Brisbane. .We have guests who use our place as a base to discover the South Coast and all the national parks and forests in the area. I come from a big Italian family, I am a qualified Carpenter and Builder, who is managing this project-developing a dream I have had since I was little. My other jobs are too many to list and I don't want to brag. Arthur is the Electrician/ Carpenter/ Builder/ Machine Operator/ Miracle Worker, who makes it all happen. Our 3 dogs (Missy, Molly and Tilly) are our Branch Managers, Work Site Inspectors, Customer Welcoming Committee and Alternative Therapy Personnel.
