City/Town: Sarina
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type: Separate Building
We have a six acre property half way between Sarina and Sarina Beach which we purchased 14 years ago. The six acres was cleared with very little vegetation or trees when we purchased. We have created zones on our spray free property with over 200 different fruit trees, a rain forest and many other garden zones. We are now in the process of converting our house yard to a zone 1 with 18 grow beds and a large greenhouse to be more productive. We have a large flat that is fully self contained with all amenities adjacent to our home. We have 3 rain water tanks which supply the house and flat with filtered water. We are very fortunate to live in a community with many other permaculturists, which we come together on a fortnightly basis to swap produce, learn and share skills. Our property supports a large cross section of natural wildlife and we also have many bee hives for our Natural and pure honey supply. I use our home grown produce for our homesteading needs. Our property is on a hill with a wonderful view facing Mt Chelona hence our property is called Chelona View. We live 5kms from Sarina Beach, which is a picturesque walking and fishing beach. We are also close to Finch Hatton Gorge and Eungella National Park. Airlie Beach is only 3 hours drive north of Sarina.

We live on a one acre suburban block with loads of permaculture potential!!! At present the block contains a house, big lawns and trees around the perimeter. A permaculture design has just been completed and earthworks will begin this month. You can compare the photos and design to see the scale of the project on which we are embarking. There’s plenty to do. Our pool is in transition from salt water and chlorine to a natural pond with 25 fingerlings joining the plants, frogs and lizards last week. We have two border collie dogs. Friendly dogs are welcome after a discussion about personalities. I’m learning as we go and can’t claim any special gardening knowledge and as yet we are not producing food. However, if your interested in seeing a big swathe of grass begin its transformation into a food forest, then we be happy to host you..

We have a beautiful 40 acre horse agistment property, veggie garden & fruit trees and approx. 5 acres bush. 3 min drive to surf beach, bay beach & Inverloch town or 10 min drive to Wonthaggi, a larger town. Push bikes available. We are very interested in living a sustainable lifestyle and hope that our WWOOFers are also interested in living sustainably and learning, and sharing knowledge of this. There are almost always wallabies at our farm and if you are lucky you may see kangaroos, echidnas, wombats & occasional koalas. Volunteering may include harvesting, food collection, composting, mulching, hay carting, weeding, fencing, planting, food preservation.  Sometimes there is some work caring for horses: often all the work is in the garden and paddock maintenance, as the horses are mainly looked after by their owners. Accommodation for up to 3 in our home, although we usually prefer 2. Shared meals, cook together. We eat a healthy, sustainable diet.  Bron is vegan and while Ray eats everything, many meals are vegan or vegetarian.  Vegetarians & vegans catered for.  No children, no smoking, all stays negotiable on application. Please let us know your available dates when you apply and the length of time that you would like to WWOOF here. (1 to 2 weeks preferred).

My husband Andrew and I (Sally) live in a contemporary self-sufficient home on 11 hectares in the Clare Valley in South Australia. We have a large fruit and vegetable garden, flower beds, bees and sheep and soon-to-be chickens. We like the quirk in gardens and have many more projects in the pipeline. We also have a pizza oven on our European style terrace at the rear of our home and an elevated deck floating over the valley for pre-dinner drinks and moon and star gazing. A deep rain water bath and pebble open shower await WWOOFers at the end of the working day.

We have not been effected by fires or floods and fortunately we have had some rain since the New Year which has made the farming outlook in this area much more positive than it was late last year. The Pines is a 1000 acre holistically managed grazing property. We run a commercial Angus breeding herd & a 1st cross Ewe flock.(sheep) We also have horses which we use to muster stock. We are very proud of our property and are constantly endeavouring to improve it and our animal's welfare. We also make an effort to include the native flora & fauna that live on our land. We are situated on the Central Tablelands of NSW 25 km from our largest town Blayney) & 5 km from the small village of Neville. We are reachable by train from Sydney (Blayney station) and are just west of the Blue Mountains for those interested in bush walking, hiking etc.
