We live at the Co-ordination Co-op which is one of the largest communities in Australia, established after the Aquarius Festival in 1973. Our Community is set in an enchanted valley - 2000 acres backing on to the Nightcap NP - where around 200 residents live, committed to environmental preservation. We're surrounded by subtropical rainforest with bubbling creeks, great swimming holes, excellent bushwalks & abundant wildlife. Friendly easy-going Hosts - happy to share our knowledge & vast experience of alternative lifestyle. We would like help with our gardens & orchards, weed control, building maintenance seed & bulb collection & anything else that's happening at the time. Accommodation for 1-3 in our home. Vegetarian meals only.  No smoking inside. No cats or dogs. Initial stay 3-5 days. Longer stays definitely possible. Have a great creek for swimming in the warmer months. Sustainable living with a view to living in harmony with nature. Off the grid power system and solar hot water, lowering our impact on our beautiful planet. Wildlife sanctuary with a myriad of different birds and animals. Feel at home!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We appreciate help, enjoy young people and having an excuse to visit the beautiful and interesting places Adelaide, the hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia have to offer with them. Due to the corona virus all our booked overseas helpers had to cancel their flight to Australia. The first time in Years we might at times be without helpers at all. Some local Australian helpers, unable to go overseas are now filling the gap which is very nice as we used to have overseas helpers only before. Please read through all the text below and only apply if you think this is for you. We live on a 2 hectare property with the young Angas River running through. We have organic gardens with fruit trees, all sorts of berries, vegetable gardens with free roaming bantams, big layer hens, a Muscovy duck, flower beds, lawns as well as two goats on paddocks and a cute house cat. 1 of our 4 kids, Katharina, is living next door with her partner. Bernward is semi retired but still runs a sustainable architecture and building consultancy business part time from offices attached to the home. Barbara works at the local hospital. We have been accommodating helpers since 2011  through various help exchange sites. If you want a break from travelling in a non judgmental  friendly  family environment and you are open and self-motivated, this is the place for you. This is not an action or party place but rather a place to relax and get creative with great light, & scenery for painting and photography, write and get back to nature. A big woodworking workshop invites creativity. I enjoy teaching woodworking skills to our helpers with the option to learn how to fit out campervans and tiny houses. A couple of times a week we heat up our Sauna and helpers are welcome to join. Help is always needed in the garden & paddock, picking berries & apples, looking after animals, weed control, making firewood, compost, cleaning up sheds & around the place, sometimes on a sustainable building site. We live 45min by car from Adelaide, 45min from safe swimming beaches & 45min from the surf, so we are pretty central. Accommodation  for 2 in separate stone cottage & own room in the main building. All share in home cooked evening meal. Mixed diet. No smokers please. Longer stays (min 3 weeks) preferred after initial few days. Please contact us via email only.

Robbie and her partner Martin share a comfy home on 17 acres near beautiful Jervis Bay. Around us are forests to walk in, bright clear night skies to watch, beaches to play on, dolphins to delight in, and kangaroos & wallabies hopping about. We like sharing our life with WWOOFers. Robbie has been sharing her life with WWOOFers since the year 2000. There are horses (not for beginner riders), chooks, dogs & cats to care for, as well as maintenance of the home & 17 acres. We like to negotiate with WWOOFers what they should do and try to find tasks that suit the individual. Accommodation for 1 within our home. Shared meals, all cook together, mixed diet, vegetarians catered for. No smoking inside. Initial stay 3-5 days to ensure we are all happy. Longer stays negotiable after initial stay.

My wife and I take pride in growing almost all our own food throughout the year (with the exception of ice-cream and chocolate) and enjoy the mountains in which our little hobby farm is nestled in. We love cycling, running and bush walking and a vegetarian diet of super healthy organic food, picked fresh each meal. In our spare time we work for a non-profit helping survivors of human trafficking, as well as some gardening odd jobs around the area.

Midway between Rainbow Beach/Fraser Island & Noosa. Our 35 acre magic valley has a huge lake for canoeing, fishing & swimming. We have just had our house reroofed so presently have a surplus of roofing iron and have some building programs, so would love some muscle. I would like a herd of sheep made with the corrugated iron, I think that would be fun too. Rossmount is an exotic fruit farm & propagation nursery. We make volunteering interesting & fun. You will learn about fruit tree growing, harvesting, training & weeding. We like new projects & wish to enhance our remnant forest. Accommodation in large caravan, or the cabin   We are close to public transport & rail. Good food & company. Will P/U in Gympie with prior notice. The first weekend in September we participate in the Cooloola Farm Trail it involves 8 farms over a 12 km distance.  There is us, another organic farm, macadamia farm, berry farm, essential oil producer, red claw farm, coffee orchard, alpaca farm. We all have pop ups on our farms and it will be a great experience if you would like to join us.

Belted Galloway cattle farm in the southern highlands. We milk these cows, too - they love to be patted. We also raise chickens for breeding and eggs, have a Permaculture veggie garden, and have just planted hazelnut trees. We are at our next stage of bushfire recovery having completed fencing and felling some trees. There are many tasks still to do even though it has rained and looks green. We need to expand the permaculture areas, constant weeding, pruning fruit trees, planting bare rooted vines and transplanting fruit trees. We also maintain a small wildlife reserve on part of the farm and look at grasses to make sure that the wombats we co-exist with have enough to eat. Volunteer tasks include feeding chickens, tending veggie garden, moving cattle to strip graze, milking cows (in non drought situations), weeding, collecting firewood, composting & worm farming. Accomodation for 2 within our home. Shared meals, all cook together. Mixed diet. Vegetarians & vegans catered for. Children b.a. No smoking on property. Initial stay 12-14 days. Longer stays negotiable.

We offer hosted accommodation on the edge of the World Heritage Area in northern Tasmania. We are looking for some help with maintenance and gardening. We have been hosting WWOOFers from many different countries for nine years. Our WWOOFers have assisted with building gardens & orchards, painting & repairing the Lodge and with making jam, bread & chutney. We grow as much food as we can organically and process it for later use. We love to cook good food and can teach anyone interested. When we take guests on guided walks we also take our WWOOFers. There are mountains around if you like trecking. If you enjoy food, nature & photography this is a good place. We are conservation minded. Work includes gardening, weeding, planting, repairs, track maintenance, painting, jam making and firewood. We have a nice cabin for accommodation but occasionally also use our caravan. Space for 2 or 3 Email contact is best. We don't have mobile coverage. We do have internet which wwoofers can use.

City/Town: Broken Head
Farming Methods: Permaculture
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, Separate Building
We are part of an intentional community 5km from Broken Head beach and less than 10km from Byron Bay. There are 11 houses spread over 40 hectares and since our beginnings nearly 25 years ago, our main aim has been to re-establish rainforest on what was bare farmland. There are now over 200 different species of bird and animal life, which have been attracted by the new habitat. Native animals such as wallabies, echidnas, goannas, and a huge variety of birds are regular visitors. Our house has been built over the last couple of years with a sustainable focus - it's completely off grid and gradually becoming self sufficient as vegetable gardens and orchard begin to mature. Our main projects at the moment involve finishing the house, establishing and maintaining gardens and building a space for chickens, so there are always plenty to do.

Virtue Farm is a 33 acre property overlooking Fraser Island, and includes 27 acres of remnant forest which will never be developed. The forest is an oasis for bird life and other animals and is great for walking.  We are 10 minutes from Hervey Bay and 10 minutes from the Fraser Island Barge that leaves from River Heads.  We have an existing permaculture garden and are upscaling to small farm size. Our house block is 1.5 acres and backs on to the farm land.  We are in the beginning stages of becoming a commercially viable farm, so you will be helping to establish our property. We ask for five hours of work per day per person, depending upon the type of work and we can be very flexible in this regard. This could include farm work, vegetable patch work, caring for the chooks, moving small saplings, rock picking, planting, mulching, weeding, harvesting, fencing, land clearing and chopping wood  and general home maintenance. If you have any specific skill base or interest we are open to negotiation. In return, we will supply an evening meal shared with us and you can prepare your own breakfasts and lunch from what we supply. Accommodation  for 4 in a granny flat downstairs, we have 1 room with two king single beds - can be joined to make a king, 1 room with a queen size bed. We can accommodate singles and couples. Mixed diet and a mix of vegetarian and meat based meals.  Whilst we have some capacity to cater for vegans, we will have to learn from you to assist us to cater for your needs and are willing to do so within limits. Internet access is available close to the house. Virtue Farm acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Butchulla people, where we work and live, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. While you are here, you should make time to go to Fraser Island. We are very flexible and happy to work around dates that you can access which are cheaper for you. Many of our volunteers have found great deals on the “Book Me” website. You would be welcome to leave your property here where it would be safe if you do choose to visit. Additionally, we strongly suggest that you plan for at least a one night overnight stay on Fraser Island; many of our volunteers have done the day tour and loved it, but all say they wished they’d stayed for longer as they felt like they only had a glimpse and not enough time to experience all it has to offer. Those people who stayed for two or three nights seem to have had the best experiences. We have some back packs and camping gear for volunteers to use (for a small fee to cover wear and tear) if they want to do the longer treks and hikes on Fraser Island. We are also aware that some companies do dual booking between the Whit Sundays and Fraser Island and they have been both popular and economical. As long as you book your trip to Fraser Island from Hervey Bay we are happy to drive you to where you need to be. If you book from Rainbow Beach, then you will have to arrange your own transport as it is about an hour and a half away. We have two bicycles and helmets which we are happy to share so you can spend a day or afternoon in Hervey Bay exploring and experiencing all that our fabulous community has to offer. There is no public transport to our home, but we are happy to drive into Hervey Bay so you can see our beautiful beaches, piers, parks and lifestyle. There are some lovely walks in the remnant forest on our block and it is always lovely to watch the kangaroos that visit daily. The volunteers that we have had so far have enjoyed their time with us and have been happy to join in with our family and extended family. You will stay in the two bedroom flat downstairs, with its own bathroom, kitchenette with microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle , dining area and lounge room. We have one room with a queen sized bed and one with two king singles. There is a TV, DVD player and some board games, card, paints and mindful colouring books. We also have heaps of Earth Garden magazines and similar to browse.

We have a beautiful 40 acre horse agistment property, veggie garden & fruit trees and approx. 5 acres bush. 3 min drive to surf beach, bay beach & Inverloch town or 10 min drive to Wonthaggi, a larger town. Push bikes available. We are very interested in living a sustainable lifestyle and hope that our WWOOFers are also interested in living sustainably and learning, and sharing knowledge of this. There are almost always wallabies at our farm and if you are lucky you may see kangaroos, echidnas, wombats & occasional koalas. Work may include harvesting, food collection, composting, mulching, hay carting, weeding, fencing, planting, food preservation.  Sometimes there is some work caring for horses: often all the work is in the garden and paddock maintenance, as the horses are mainly looked after by their owners. Accommodation for up to 3 in our home, although we usually prefer 2. Shared meals, cook together. We eat a healthy, sustainable diet.  Bron is vegan and while Ray eats everything, many meals are vegan or vegetarian.  Vegetarians & vegans catered for.  No children, no smoking, all stays negotiable on application. Hello! It's a great time of year up at our place! We are a family of four - Todd, Kate, Wimitja (15) and Kinyin (11). We are in the Adelaide Hills but only 15 - 20 minutes from the city center. Good access by public transport. Non smokers only. It is green and beautiful here with loads of great walks, views and animals to see. We are close to the city and a bus route but in the hills with koalas and kangaroos around... We have raised traditional Mongolian yurt which you can sleep in if you like - it is BEAUTIFUL and wwoofers so far have loved it!  We are working on all the associated projects - making woven fences out if vine prunings, making paths, drainage, planting natives. We have been WWOOF hosting for many years now and really enjoy sharing life with people from all around the world. Stories, food, work, laughs and all that comes in between. We want to enjoy hosting you and we want you to enjoy being here! We work on our 3 1/2 acre property with animals, fruit trees, loads of berries, native bush and other garden areas. We are slowly working to make the land and garden more productive and the bush free from ferals. Todd works with homeless people in the city of Adelaide which is 20 minutes away or 1 hour by bike. Kate is a teacher who works with children and young families in Steiner or Waldorf Education from our property running Steiner Nature Playgroups. Our older son breeds chickens and our younger son loves his pet rabbits. Lacey the dog will love you for ever if you throw the ball for her! We enjoy cooking, gardening, preserving food, slow cooking and spending time as a family. We value community and believe in being part of something bigger than ourselves. We love travel but don't do as much these days and hosting WWOOFers is a way to bring bits and pieces of the world alive in our every day life. If you would like to come and spend time with us we prefer stays of one week - then negotiable. We enjoy people who are self motivated and looking to enjoy their days. We love it if you have great skills but are also fine if you are pretty new to it all but are happy to learn. Our home is a place for an open mind and complete respect for each person. No drugs, no smoking and no excessive drinking - let's work, learn and enjoy the days together. Everyone helps with cleaning up after meals and preparing food - your gender is irrelevant! If you are interested in gardening, cooking, permaculture, preserving food, community, Steiner or Waldorf education, telling stories and enjoying good food - this could be for you! The work here is a mix of home and garden and is seasonally dependent - give us a call to see what is happening at the moment. A typical day might include mulching, pruning, weeding, collecting stones for wall building or weaving sticks into fences, planting, preserving seasonal fruit and veg, cleaning and mending in and around the house, etc. We like to provide a variety of jobs and also work to people's skill set. We would love to host an electrician or plumber or builder!!! We limit our screen use but there is wifi available in the house. Our family prefers to enjoy people and life first hand! We enjoy eating together and telling stories and laughing over the meal. We love it when visitors want to cook a meal or two using a recipe from their family or home. We eat a small amount of meat but are most happy to cater for vegetarians as Kate until recently was vego! There is a wealth of things to do around our place in free time - there is a bus to the city to do city based things but we are also close to Mount Lofty, Cleland Wildlife park and our house 5 minutes walk to the Heysen Trail. You can regularly see kangaroos and koalas in the bush around our property and we back onto Horsnell Gully National Park. There is lots of good bush walking around. We look for visitors to work 5 hours a day and to negotiate days off in balance with this. We all share preparing for meals and cleaning up afterwards. Visitors have their own private room and use of the main bathroom (we have an ensuite for us). We are on tank water and solar heating so visitors must be mindful of water usage. No smokers at all.
