    Short Property Description

We have a beautiful 40 acre horse agistment property, veggie garden & fruit trees and approx. 5 acres bush. 3 min drive to surf beach, bay beach & Inverloch town or 10 min drive to Wonthaggi, a larger town. Push bikes available.

We are very interested in living a sustainable lifestyle and hope that our WWOOFers are also interested in living sustainably and learning, and sharing knowledge of this.

There are almost always wallabies at our farm and if you are lucky you may see kangaroos, echidnas, wombats & occasional koalas.

Work may include harvesting, food collection, composting, mulching, hay carting, weeding, fencing, planting, food preservation.  Sometimes there is some work caring for horses: often all the work is in the garden and paddock maintenance, as the horses are mainly looked after by their owners.

Accommodation for up to 3 in our home, although we usually prefer 2. Shared meals, cook together. We eat a healthy, sustainable diet.  Bron is vegan and while Ray eats everything, many meals are vegan or vegetarian.  Vegetarians & vegans catered for.  No children, no smoking, all stays negotiable on application. Please let us know your available dates when you apply and the length of time that you would like to WWOOF here. (1 to 2 weeks preferred).

    Full Property Description

We are close to great surfing and swimming beaches as well as some magnificent areas for walking.  We always take WWOOFers around the local area as well as lending them bikes for use during their time off.  In addition, we take WWOOFers either to Philip Island or to Wilson’s Promontory where we have walks and a picnic. The scenery is breathtaking and we are able to take you to places that most tourists don’t usually visit.

WWOOFers work in the morning.  In the afternoon they usually take the bikes and either go to the beach, go shopping, or go for some beautiful walks.  Sometimes they just like to relax on our property, spending time outside, maybe with the horses, or perhaps reading a book.

As we are trying to live a sustainable and healthy lifestyle, we hope that WWOOFers are interested in living the same way.

We love meeting people from all over the world and learning from our WWOOFers.  Bron has taught English as a Second language and enjoys helping WWOOFers with English if they would like this help.  We like learning different languages from our WWOOFers, but unfortunately we have not learnt too much – we went to Japan recently and caught up with one of our WWOOFers.  His English had improved so much.  Unfortunately we had remembered almost none of the Japanese that he taught us. We did learn basic French at school and like to practise that when we get a chance. We have been to many of the countries that our WWOOFers come from and enjoy learning about all countries

    Organic/Biological methods we use

We farm organically and sustainably.  Manure is mainly harrowed back into the paddocks.  In small paddocks it is collected and composted.  Of course, we compost all organic waste on the farm.  Most of the fruit and vegetables we eat are from our farm, from produce swaps and other local providers.

    Special Conditions

As we only have one wwoof bedroom, we may have a date advertised as available, but if there is already one WWOOFer booked in, we can only take a second WWOOFer of the same sex.

We expect that our WWOOFers are interested in learning about and living a sustainable, healthy lifestyle.

Most WWOOFers remark on how much they enjoy our home prepared food.  If you are interested in eating junk food and lots of meat, this is not the place for you.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We love meeting people from all over the world and wwoofing is a way to do this without travelling overseas.

We love sharing our knowledge with others, such as farming skills and cooking skills.

    We love sharing food.

We love to have our mind opened to new ideas.

Meeting wwoofers gives us the ability to do all these things.
