    Short Property Description

Our farm “Boraning” has been certified for over 35 years Bio-dynamic, which makes it the longest running broadacre organic (or biodynamic) farm in Western Australia. Our home “Boraning” is 2900 acres of Demeter Certified Bio-dynamic land in rolling hills, 2 hours south of Perth. We are honoured to have been recognised with the Western Australian Sustainability Award for our farming activities. “Boraning” is a diversified farm with many activities taking place on it.

Our family farm Is run by Myself (William) my Wife Kelly and our son Vincent. There’s always something to do on “Boraning” (the farm). We run beef cattle and sheep, grow olives and pistachios, and also run a horse stud and training centre. Kelly Newton-Wordsworth as well as being a farmer, is also a multi award winning international singer songwriter (you can search for her environmental songs on youtube), as well as an author of an acclaimed self help book called “This is your life – How to live a life beyond your dreams”.

Our son Vincent manages the farm. Volunteering with him includes looking after and handling the horses, cattle and sheep work, cutting and collecting wood, building yards, fencing, feeding mobs of cattle or sheep, checking the farm animals, and keeping the farm running.

On Boraning we have four houses that require regular maintenance from gardening to cleaning. We have a farm stay cottage where we have people coming to stay regularly.

The Christian Community Centre is where WWOOFers live with Vincent. We also have an office with working internet and computer if you need to contact family.

We work together in a group every morning from Monday to Friday, starting with cleaning and gardening. On different mornings we work at different houses so they all get the attention needed. We have breakfast all together each morning except on weekends, we have movie nights on Friday and celebrate the week’s achievements and rest over the weekend.

We also have 2 beautiful pet cats, and a dog named “Buzz”. We have a number horses that people can learn to ride or come out on and see the farm if you can ride well enough. If you are keen to go camping we have some of the most awesome places with heavenly views to take you to.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We became WWOOF hosts in 1994 because we are passionate about biodynamic/organic agriculture, gardening, our lifestyle and we wanted to share with people who are interested to come and learn through ‘doing’.

On a 2,900 acre biodynamic farm such as ours there are almost unlimited activities we can choose to do in a day and we find the life we have so exciting we want to share this with as many people as we possibly can have here at any one time.

We have had beautiful people from all over the world to come to Boraning and this has enriched both our life and theirs in many ways.

We also love hearing about the people who come here and learn from them also about the life they lead back in their homeland.

WWOOF is an amazing organisation which helps people with common interests to find each other!
