Here it is natural farming methods of producing beef, fruit and vegetables .There are large veggie gardens and an  extensive fruit orchard with a big variety of fruit trees that bear during the season-The working dogs  require years of training, there is minimal reliance on machinery but a wood splitter machine has been a boon to getting the wood supply done, the splitter  minimises the amount of hard work. Chooks also help supply plenty of eggs when they are laying. You need to have suitable outdoor all-weather clothing-gloves/coat/sturdy boots/hat/safety glasses etc,The  capacity to be independent with transport is good for  local sight  seeing that can include koalas, lyrebirds, river walks, lakes, ocean,& mountains with winter snow.

City/Town: Conondale
Farming Methods: Biodynamic
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, BYO Accommodation
We have a beautiful property in Conondale, near Maleny which is in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Queensland. 154 acres, mostly native bush but with about 20-30acres of cleared land, and we even have our own rain forrest and deer! We have recently moved here and have lots of plans! But the first thing is to get the fences sorted, and the weeds in the paddocks and the native bush. We are interested in regenerative farming methods, and are looking forward to putting these practices in place to improve the soil and native bush around us. We have a fabulous pool, tennis court and with three dams, one which you can kayak in, there is lots to do on your down time. There is a bus at our gate that will take you into Maleny which is about a 20 minute drive. We've had WWOOFers for the last 2 years out at Roma (in the South QLD outback) and would love to host more here, in this completely different environment as we learn together!

Riverpines is a 20 year old organic vineyard in the Broke Forditch region of the Hunter Valley. Set up in the late 90's as a top shelf grape producer it has great bones. The new owners are working on a transition to a more integrated farming approach bringing in a variety of other produce and companion livestock. With a focus going forward on using biodynamic principles Riverpines is set for interesting times. Come and join us for a few days or move in for a while... Kind regards, Simon

Virtue Farm is a 33 acre property overlooking K'Gari (Fraser Island), and includes 27 acres of remnant forest which will never be developed. The forest is an oasis for bird life and other animals and is great for walking.  We are 10 minutes from Hervey Bay and 10 minutes from the K'Gari (Fraser Island) barge that leaves from River Heads. We have an existing permaculture garden and are upscaling to small farm size. Our house block is 1.5 acres and backs on to the farm land.  We are in the beginning stages of becoming a commercially viable farm, so you will be helping to establish our property. We ask for five hours of volunteering per day, per person, depending upon the type of work and we can be very flexible in this regard. This could include farm work, vegetable patch work, caring for the chooks, moving small saplings, rock picking, planting, mulching, weeding, harvesting, fencing, land clearing and chopping wood and general home maintenance. If you have any specific skill base or interest we are open to negotiation. In return, we will supply an evening meal shared with us and you can prepare your own breakfasts and lunch from what we supply. Accommodation  for 4 in a granny flat downstairs, we have 1 room with two king single beds - can be joined to make a king, 1 room with a queen size bed. We can accommodate singles and couples. Mixed diet and a mix of vegetarian and meat based meals.  Whilst we have some capacity to cater for vegans, we will have to learn from you to assist us to cater for your needs and are willing to do so within limits. Internet access is available close to the house. Virtue Farm acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Butchulla people, where we work and live, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. While you are here, you should make time to go to K'Gari (Fraser Island). We are very flexible and happy to work around dates that you can access which are cheaper for you. Many of our volunteers have found great deals on the “Book Me” website. You would be welcome to leave your property here where it would be safe if you do choose to visit. Additionally, we strongly suggest that you plan for at least a one night overnight stay on K'Gari (Fraser Island); many of our volunteers have done the day tour and loved it, but all say they wished they’d stayed for longer as they felt like they only had a glimpse and not enough time to experience all it has to offer. Those people who stayed for two or three nights seem to have had the best experiences. We have some back packs and camping gear for volunteers to use (for a small fee to cover wear and tear) if they want to do the longer treks and hikes on Fraser Island. We are also aware that some companies do dual booking between the Whit Sundays and Fraser Island and they have been both popular and economical. As long as you book your trip to Fraser Island from Hervey Bay we are happy to drive you to where you need to be. If you book from Rainbow Beach, then you will have to arrange your own transport as it is about an hour and a half away. We have two bicycles and helmets which we are happy to share so you can spend a day or afternoon in Hervey Bay exploring and experiencing all that our fabulous community has to offer. There is no public transport to our home, but we are happy to drive into Hervey Bay so you can see our beautiful beaches, piers, parks and lifestyle. There are some lovely walks in the remnant forest on our block and it is always lovely to watch the kangaroos that visit daily. The volunteers that we have had so far have enjoyed their time with us and have been happy to join in with our family and extended family. You will stay in the two bedroom flat downstairs, with its own bathroom, kitchenette with microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle , dining area and lounge room. We have one room with a queen sized bed and one with two king singles. There is a TV, DVD player and some board games, card, paints and mindful colouring books. We also have heaps of Earth Garden magazines and similar to browse.

The Urban Farmer Blue Mountains - Co-Creating a Creative Space for Community to Connect. This space is in the throes of design, construction and planting. Full steam ahead over the next few weeks, so I'm getting REALLY eXciTeD. In fact my friend just turned up with his excavator and created the bones of the 'Zen' area. So completing that has just been added to the list.  The design incorporates a Pond Performance Space (think .. singers, musicians, actors, stand up comics, storytellers and poets), Edible Food Forest (densely planted), Workshop Space, Healing Room, Breakout Areas, Communal Circle with Fire Pit, a Pizza Oven in the Dragon's Lair (it will actually be in her tummy), Bush Tucker Walk / Aboriginal Dreaming, Children's Play Space, Chickens, Worms and Whatever other Creative Pursuits we can collaboratively add. It's primary purpose is to teach Permaculture Principles. The space is being set up so that interested parties will be able to teach what they are passionate about. The other premise is that Workshops and Performances will be offered at a nominal cost.
