Michael and I, (both 58 years old) and our friendly labrador Marley, live in our family home, on a private 5 acres, on the Blackall Range (about 425 m above sea level), Sunshine Coast Hinterland, 82 kilometres north of Brisbane. Two acres around the house are intensively managed, and the other 3 acres are rainforest, and weedy lantana and privet patches, down to Obi Obi Creek at the bottom of the property. We have two options to offer as accommodation for our WWOOFer volunteers, depending on vacancy. Our self contained granny flat underneath the main residence can accommodate a single person or a couple. Upstairs in the main residence there is a spare bedroom with ensuite, and external patio and entry. We have recently purchased the property, and are keen to establish the veggie patch and orchard, and regenerate areas of rainforest, according to permaculture principles. I am a soil consultant, working with regenerative agriculture/organic farmers and market gardeners across Australia, but particularly in south east Queensland. A few times a year, I teach soil classes for organic farmers and market gardeners, and also teach the soil component of the permaculture course at Crystal Water Eco Village. My speciality is soil mineral balancing. I completed a permaculture design certificate 22 years ago, and this will be my third (and last) personal permaculture property set up, but I am only just beginning, so there is much to be done. In our spare time, Michael and I both enjoy time on the water, fishing, and snorkelling on the wrecks at Tangalooma.

We live on 100 acres in the Margaret River region, with a large orchard and kitchen garden that produces a large amount of fruit and vegetables. We focus on regenerative farming, animal ethics, cooking and food production without chemicals. Currently we have chickens, sheep, dogs and cats and human children that go to the local high school but the animal numbers change regularly. We are still growing and developing so there are plenty exciting projects to be involved with.

Skills we want Winter 2021: -Event management -Social Media Marketing -Book editing and design -Home Declutter assistant (to help me with my clients) - Lighting design, so things look magical - Home maintenance: cooking, cleaning, designing - Garden creation and maintenance:  planting herbs and vegetables, making a little pond, creating topsoil. Here it is natural farming methods of producing beef, fruit and vegetables that are used here.there are large veggie gardens and extensive fruit orchards with a big variety of fruit that bear during the season-trickle watering. This ensures juicy produce, the working dogs & horses require years of training, there is minimal reliance on machinery but a wood splitter machine has been a boon to getting the wood supply done, an axe has proved to be out of date, it surely minimises the amount of hard work. Chooks also help supply plenty of eggs when they are laying.

We moved in to this 100 acre property, situated between Pemberton and Northcliffe in the South West of Western Australia, at the end of 2018. It is surrounded by stunning karri forrest and on the crossing of the Bibbulmun walking trail and the Munda Biddi cycling trail. We have a productive home orchard and veggie gardens, as well as ponds and a lake with marron, the largest freshwater crayfish in the world and pretty tasty. We have cows, sheep, chickens, and a couple of worm farms. Also a very energetic young pomeranian dog, Rupert. Plenty of water is also a bonus in this country. In addition to our rammed earth house, there are also 4 holiday cottages on the property. Most of the time, our helpers can stay in one of the cottages if it is not during busy holiday times or long weekends. Otherwise, they stay in our house in the spare room. We have spare bikes for our helpers, so that they can go and explore this beautiful area.

Projects include:

During the winter months, David is busy planting lots of trees, so you will be able to help create a lasting benefit for the future. There are trees for fodder, shelter, fruit and some for longer term timber resource.

We are experimenting with regenerative farming and improving the soil with growing a diverse mix of grasses and making and applying compost teas to increase the subsoil life. Other ongoing projects:

Constructing and maintaining permaculture gardens and orchards, picking berries and fruit. Planting native flowering plants for the bees, propagating and seeding vegetables.

Making compost and mulching the gardens.

Woodworking projects, ranging from making greenhouse to re-fitting kitchens in the cottages.

Chopping firewood and collecting kindling.

I live on a beautiful secluded waterfront 9 acres about 45 mins south of Byron bay 20 mins at Broadwater which is near Evans head and am 4 klm's from the Pacific hwy. I love the water, boats, my gardens & bikes. I am now currently spending more time at home and due to some changed circumstances and am seeking some assistance in maintaining the property here, mainly with general duties like collecting branches and sticks after strong winds, planting, gardening, cleaning raking etc. There are 7 to 8 kayaks here for use on a secluded part of the river an outside garden shower with hot & cold water to wash off. I'm a pretty easy going friendly person, myself and all my friends have love and respect for each other am seeking people of this nature. There is power available outside for campervan users and sink with hot & cold water outside loo and shower if desired and a BBQ area .

Near funky Fremantle, and the beach, Pinakarri is an intentional community of 20 friendly adults & 3 kids living in colourful passive-solar houses set in shared gardens surrounding a large common house. We eat together 2 nights a week, around the fire & sometimes play music or hang out together in our leafy gardens. There are several musicians in Pinakarri as well as a piano and guitar for you to play. Walking distance to South beach, close to shops and bus to Freo, bikes are provided too. Pinkarri supports & applies sustainable principles such as extensive grey-water & rainwater systems, including irrigation to the communal and productive gardens, vegetable patch & fruit trees. Work for 2 hours a day: gardening, composting, weeding, cleaning common rooms, or helping prepare a shared meal. You'll stay in the lovely common-house where there is a guest room, dining room, bathroom, internet, b.b.q and a kitchen where you can prepare most of your own meals. You are staying in the community house, and all community members have their own individual houses. This means that although we do love to hang out together and we are a friendly mob, most of us work outside the community, and have busy lives. Staying at Pinakarri you might be & work quite a lot of time by yourself, so you do have to be a self-starter and a person that is o.k living & working alone. Pinakarri welcomes adults, couples, 2 friends, 1 child OK . We prefer hosting people long term so we can get to know you and you us! But let's try one week first..
