Short Property Description
Our Eco Farming Hamlet is an organic, chemical free, permaculture demonstration farm that is located in the Sub-Tropical Bioregion of the beautiful, fertile, Byron Bay hinterland. Our homestead is called Grace Residence. We live in Paradise House. centrally located in a 66 acre lush, private farm halfway between Nimbin and Lismore, approximately 25 minutes from both.
Our homestead is surrounded by regenerated subtropical rainforest, with a thriving, established 27 year old sub-tropical food forest watered by a large picturesque aquaculture eco system at our doorstep. We have established handy food gardens adjacent to our large straw-bale homestead. We enjoy caring for an animal system set up with holistic management principles.
Organic/Biological methods we use
Soil testing, soil amendment, composting, worm farms, seed saving, plant propagation, plant guilds, crop rotation, companion planting, bioregional analysis, site analysis, integrated animal and plant systems, stacked systems, holistic animal management, herbal remedies for animals and humans, aquaculture, dry compost toilets system, rain water harvesting and multi level irrigation, systems, food forests, established complex eco systems and microclimates.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We love extra help and to share our wealth of experience and knowledge with anyone who cares for people, animals and the environment . This is our opportunity to pass on our diverse experience and knowledge and provide onsite learning of practical hands on skills and useful knowledge in sustainable farming including homesteading, growing organic healthy food, healthy lifestyle and how to holistically care for animals health and welfare.
We can demonstrate a range of permaculture and organic food production systems, food forest management, agro-forestry, homesteading and prepping. It brings us fulfilment to mentor others and to share our lifestyle, information and life skills.
Working on the land together is very rewarding and at the end of the day when we see tangible results from our group efforts, creative projects, and design-based ideas and techniques for self-reliant living. We enjoy delicious organic freshly harvested food and we love to cook, play music and create art. We have worked as farmers, lecturers, educators, consultants, business managers, community and property developers, professional creatives with a range of knowledge, skills, and experience in landscape and interior design, filmmaking and music performance. We have a large working art studio and music room onsite. We have two mini schnauzers who love their life and their human and animal companions.
