Organic/Biological methods we use
We use no pesticides or artificial fertilisers but instead use long crop rotations, sheep grazing and legumes to promote soil fertility. We also use probiotics to increase soil health and enhance the quality of our crops.
The probiotics are made using ancient Japanese techniques combining beneficial bacteria and fungi to produce a type of soil yogurt which is applied to our whole farm. Because of this treatment we use less tillage to grow our crops and have a smaller carbon footprint.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We like to meet new people and learn about their countries and cultures whilst getting some help with farm chores. We have been hosts for over 23 years and have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences we have had with so many different people. Originally we joined when our children were young so they could learn about different countries. Now they have grown up and have children of their own. We love the company and energy of younger people who are adventurous enough to have a go at Wwoofing.
