Victoire Taouk
We are a small family-run dairy goat farm, milking 30 goats and handcrafting the milk into speciality cheeses that we sell at the farm gate and at local markets. Besides the goats, we also have steers, sheep, a few chickens and a vegetable garden.
We enjoy sharing our farming skills and life with those who want to embark on a part of our journey. We are a multicultural family, with Moussa: born in Lebanon, Victoire: French and born in Germany; and both our children Joseph (8), and Marie (5) born in Australia

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We always appreciate some extra help to run our recently started dairy goat farm. Wwofers usually enjoy participating in a lot of various tasks ranging from fencing, planting shrubs, milking, feeding, caring of goats, cheese making and selling our produce at farmers market… We love entering into relationship with wwofers and sharing with each other life  experiences and knowledge.

Organic/Biological methods we use

The objective of our farm is to maintain a relationship with nature so that we work alongside the natural rhythms and processes of the fauna and flora under our stewardship. To do so we divided the farm into over 40 paddocks and rotate our goats into fresh paddocks every few days. This helps to keep them free of intestinal worms without using chemical drenches as well as improving the soils health by giving pastures a rest.
A substantial part of our farm is allocated to the local Regent Honeyeater project to encourage birdlife. We’re also in the process of planting enough goat-friendly browse on the farm so that in the future we can minimise the amount of hay that is imported from outside even in dry times. In addition, the browse will further encourage bird life on our property, which sits adjacent to the Winton Wetlands area, previously known as Lake Mokoan.
