We have not been effected by fires or floods and fortunately we have  had some rain since the New Year which has made the farming outlook in this area much more positive than it was late last year. The Pines is a 1000 acre holistically managed grazing property. We run a commercial Angus breeding herd & a 1st cross Ewe flock.(sheep) We also have horses which we use to muster stock. We are very proud of our property and are constantly endeavouring to improve it and our animal's welfare. We also make an effort to include the native flora & fauna that live on our land. We are situated on the Central Tablelands of NSW 25 km from our largest town Blayney) & 5 km from the small village of Neville. We are reachable by train from Sydney (Blayney station) and are just west of the Blue Mountains for those interested in bush walking, hiking etc.

Welcome to my portal. I have one acre of garden; permaculture, rainforest, quarry and wild raspberries, and a hand-built wooden house. I need help with maintenance of land and building. Volunteering includes planting, weeding, composting, landscaping and also painting and oiling of structures. There is scope for creative inventions and carpentry. Located 20 mins walk to the laid-back picturesque old-world town of Mullumbimby which is now becoming gentrified. Buskers play in the main street and there are great healthfood shops, a farmers market and community gardens. The beach is 20 mins drive: Brunswick Heads or Byron Bay. I am a mature woman and welcome mature WWOOFers, as well as younger ones if they have some experience in  above tasks. Accommodation in tent or in house. All diets catered for. No smoking indoors. Prefer Wifi off by 10pm (in support of wildlife as well as my peace of mind).

2 acres in tiny town being slowly converted from old grazing land into a bountiful and beautiful food production garden. Animals include milking goats and rabbits, with ducks, chooks and bees on the way. That’s the goats that get milked, not the rabbits! I am learning about permaculture and soil rehabilitation as I go so it is a work in progress and I am open to suggestions. I have an excellent reference library pertaining to food production, preservation, and animal husbandry. The property is a half hour drive from the nearest largish town and as such is pretty isolated despite being on the outskirts of the village. There are plenty of interesting places to visit locally for hiking or climbing. The veggie garden is always being expanded as fast as I can create proper soil conditions for growth. I am an easy going relatively laid back middle aged retired female looking to keep creating something beautiful and practical and I find that I need a set of strong young legs to assist in my goals of a sustainable micro farm. I am really interested in composting techniques and my hope is to leave the land better than I found it for future generations to enjoy. I have German shepherd dogs and they are inside/outside dogs so any visitors must be comfortable with large slobbery hounds underfoot. According to my son I am not the best cook so be warned. However, I believe that opinion to based on his city habits of ordering in from a variety of home delivery services available in Melbourne so I can see how my cooking would be boring in that light.  I am proficient enough in nutritious foods like lentils, curry (I love curries!) seasonal veggie soups with home made spiced chicken broth, spag bowl and various stir fry vegetable dishes.  And omelettes.  Seasonal organic food will be available from the garden and I like to experiment with what I produce. Sometimes meal times can be a bit weird but what’s life without a bit of challenge! You are more than welcome to teach me your favourite dishes. Hopefully the local markets will reopen soon in regional Victoria so I can access supplemental fresh farm produce again.

We are experimenting with how to sustain a 3 block edible garden in a town which is on the Darling River and is often exposed to drought, high temperatures/ extreme conditions. Although this house is in the town of Wilcannia, It is a truly unique town with a infamous history, this home is a heritage house and the town is trying to revitalise itself. Being relatively remote, like all of us struggling with how to be independent of systems that are destructive to the Earth and sustainable and local. We grow vegetables, flowers and try and accomodate native plants also.
