    Short Property Description

If you love nature, enjoy hands-on work, and want to be part of something meaningful, we’d love to welcome you to Banyula! Banyula is a 1,000-acre private conservation reserve in the Clarence Valley, bordering State Forest and Yuraygir National Park, just 15 minutes from the beaches of Minnie Water and Wooli. We’re an active couple in our 70s, passionate about conservation, and welcome WWOOFers to assist with bush regeneration, wildlife monitoring, property maintenance, and gardening. During Queensland school holidays, we also seek an active couple to help entertain our grandkids (7, 8, and 11). Accommodation includes a private studio, kitchen, and bathroom facilities. A vehicle is required. Join us in protecting biodiversity and experiencing this beautiful landscape!  Visa Extension Eligible.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

We’re passionate about gardening, even though we’re not experts! We have two garden areas where we grow seasonal vegetables and fruits, along with an orchard that produces prolific mangoes, figs, and other produce. While conservation is our main focus, we’re always eager to learn more about gardening and are open to trying new methods. Any advice or help you can offer to improve our gardening practices would be greatly appreciated.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We became WWOOF hosts because we love learning from others and sharing our conservation efforts with enthusiastic and appreciative people. Last school holidays, we had a wonderful experience with a couple from the USA who were outdoor educators. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about their culture and travel experiences around the world. Our grandkids had a blast hanging out with them, and when the kids went home, the couple helped us with our conservation projects and property maintenance. It was truly special to have young people engage with and learn about the Australian wildlife and the bush at Banyula.
