We are now able to accept people for 2nd and 3rd year visas under the volunteer work scheme for Bushfire or Flood recovery efforts.  Yes we can sign off on these visas in conjunction with volunteer work. https://wwoof.com.au/2nd-3rd-year-working-holiday-visas-update/ Our main residence is located in the centre of Orange NSW. We have a permaculture garden located at home and we also have a large scale Permaculture Educational Centre. Holistically managed being built on 97 acres at Cargo. There is quite a lot of mixed work available at Cargo starting with the building of vegetable gardens, service areas for composting, buildings, food forest and pathways. Accommodation consists of a caravan  with all facilities available at the property. If volunteering at the home then you will stay in a room located at the home or the Camper van. Old fashioned home cooked meals for the evening meals with everyone joining in. Length of stay negotiable. Keen to hear from people who would like to stay long term and work with us to develop a village setting at our Permaculture site at Cargo.  Plus those of you who also can help us with garden maintenance and animal care in town at our home.

We thought it was the perfect way to connect with Australian farming and get to know the Organic side of it. The flexibility also speaks to us aswell, as we really do want to have time to explore.

I would like to gain practical farm experience and get an idea of what I could do in the future. Australia's soils are very degraded, so I would like to volunteer on farms to help build healthy soil. I'm also wanting to gain some experience handling sheep, cattle and poultry to see if I have a leaning towards any or all of them.

After three years of living in NZ,That place made me dream of having my place to grow my own food and actually live in a part of the ecosystem. But I felt like I’d like to travel more before having my own place to settle. And I thought WWOOF is the best combination of traveling, and learning mindsets and skills. That’s why I did join WWOOF. Thank you.

We are new to gardens, veggies fish etc. No smoking property. Plenty of space to just bet away from it all. Must like dogs, turtles and fish. We have solar pumps in some of our ponds. Almost 360 views nearby. I work full time from home and also do some human rights advocacy and volunteering for people in crisis. My husband runs a factory in Melbourne. My daughter is out most days studying. Would love someone to help maintain gardens,

I want to join this experience because I’m excited to try new things and find a job that helps me get my second-year visa. I’m very interested in farm life and I want to experience a different way of working and living. I believe this will be an amazing chance to learn new skills, meet people from different backgrounds, and make friends while doing meaningful work. I know that living and working on a farm will be very different from my daily life back home, and that’s exactly why I want to do it — I want to challenge myself, step out of my comfort zone, and really make the most of my time in Australia. I hope to gain more practical skills, learn more about nature and sustainable living, and become more independent and open-minded. I also look forward to helping out as much as I can, sharing good moments with my hosts, and creating memories that I will never forget.

I am an artist and live in a large suburban home on the corner of a main road. There are 4 people living here at the moment (2 tenants, my adult son and myself). I work as a freelance artist with ongoing deadlines, and also spend every evening with my 101 year old mother (who lives across the road in an Aged Care facility).  With all this, I am very time-poor, and most meals are seperate due to my unconventional hours. But I am very happy for you to cook or join me when I’m having a meal 🙂 You need to be able to work unsupervised and have an open mind, and be prepared for a different experience as it is not the typical wwoofing framework. Volunteering includes help with vegetable garden (weeding, composting, planting, mulching, watering plants) and general gardening, odd jobs around the house and help with various art projects. Also, on nice days I would appreciate if you could sometimes take my mother out into the sunshine). Accommodation is for 1 or 2 people in guest room or cosy converted garage. Mixed diet. The work hours =  4 hours a day (with flexibility), with one or two days off a week. After working you are very welcome to spend time exploring the city which is a half an hour train ride. There is a local pool, cafés and shopping centres nearby. Life in our household is calm and relaxed and suits those who enjoy peace and quiet. 10 minute walk to train station and 25 min train ride to city. Cannot take WWOOFers from May - October.

I want to learn about farming, taking a break from the citylife. I think this is a great way to get away, and learn more about different cultures and work styles, and meet new people.

I'm really interested in self-sufficient, permaculture, or some way to live with animals and nature. In this modern era, we even don't know where the food we eat every day comes from. We just go to a supermarket, buying some packed foods and consume them, then throw away many plastic. I don't know how a farmer grow vegetables, picking/packing, transporting to the market. I don't know how to milk a cow, how to kill pigs, how many people are related to transport these products and determine the market price. I feel this is crazy. I want to know and experience how foods I consume every day are produced and come to the table. I often search how to start self-sufficient life, wondering how to do, and found the best way is to learn from people who realise the self-sufficient life. There're several work exchange sites to provide similar service to WWOOF like Helpx, Workaway, and I'm also interested in such services because cultural exchanges is also very attractive. However, my main purpose is to learn how to realise the self-sufficient life, permaculture or any sustainable way of life. WWOOF is the best work exchange sites to connect with the host.

I joined this Woofing site in order to be able to research the diffrent farm stays that are on offer as well as to provide the hosts with my profile information as well as having an easy way to communicate with each other. I joined this woofing site in order to add one more possibility for adventures to my future travels. Sometimes solo travel is nice and sometimes is nice to hang out in a tribe. Meeting fellow woofers along the way will be a good way of getting feedback on other farm stays not just in Australia but all over the globe.

MOUNT MITCHELL is an historic farm in the central Victoria. Primarily we are a working farm, breeding sheep for both wool and meat, and growing some crops. The homestead and gardens create a beautiful space for events. We host weddings, group tours and open garden days on occasions. We endorse the paddock to plate concept and have an extensive vegetable garden and orchard. WWOOFer volunteering includes mowing, gardening, hedge trimming, sheep work, fencing, wood splitting, looking after farm animals & pets, machinery maintenance, painting, building & general farm and house maintenance. WWOOFers are accommodated in their own residence on the property. Some shared meals, or food provided to prepare your own meals. Prefer WWOOFers with stamina who are physically strong and fit. Extended stays are negotiable.

Heartwood Farm is a 7 acre property at Newrybar in the Byron Bay Hinterland. The farm includes a mixed orchard, an intensive market garden, pasture, and a rainforest revegetation project, all managed organically. WWOOFers will be exposed to the techniques of intensive organic fruit and vegetable production, including green manuring, composting, and crop rotation, along with rainforest regeneration. Heartwood is still in its development phase, so WWOOFers will also be exposed to a sustainability-focused design process emerging from landscape and climate observations of this unique location.
