Arnie and I are doing an open ended road trip from Melbourne to Darwin to Cairns and back to Melbourne. We are extremely interested in stopping at some point on the way to stay somewhere we can work and learn new life skills. We would like to find somewhere we could work with growing crop and livestock. We are flexible in our interests and wants within the stay if it feels right for us.

We joined in hope that we'd be able to make contact with like minded hosts that implement either (or all) organic, bio-dynamic or permaculture principles on their respective farms and plan out a year or two worth of experiences across Australia. From the travels and experiences throughout different parts of the country we'd like to have a good understanding of where we'd like to put down roots for our own permacultre farm. It is also very much about exposing our son to many and various life experiences afar of our current modern suburb lifestyle. New lifelong friendships would be an excellent outcome too 🙂

I joined WWOOF because I believe that all living things are interconnected - therefore I want to learn how to sustain our environment and live in harmony with each other. I am very interested in learning more about Permaculture and getting some hands on experience in an organic farm. I value supporting local farmers, so being an Australian exploring my own backyard, I want to help out in any way that I can. From my WWOOFing experiences, I hope to gain more knowledge and skills in Permaculture, growing organic produce and sustaining our earth, so I can be the change I want to see and share my learnings with others. I want to meet and make connections with incredible people by learning about their culture and their stories. Finally, I hope to gain more clarity on the direction of my next chapter and start putting some ideas into action.

when i was in China . my friends already told me i can experience WWOOF in australia. but the life here is not easy. you have to handle everything. fortunately i'm lucky. the people around me are really nice. also i spend one and half year already. when i looked back. most of the time .i was busy making living .want to earn more money. In the next couple months . i want change other life. be relax to do everything. i want to learn something new and experience the local life . My host can know more about China and our culture. Because there are big differences between China and Australia. My mind would be opened. In China . the new generations want to go and live in the city. That is a big problem. it means no one wants to do the farm work. Every one wants to work in the office. But I am the different . i like the nature . I’m thinking when I go back to China .i want to rent a land. Do some farm work . that would be nice .

I value earth-friendly and ecologically sustainable lifestyles and activities and for me, WWOOFing embodies that. I WWOOFed on a number of farms 30 years ago when WWOOFing was young and I even interviewed WWOOFing hosts for an ABC radio program that I made about it. I enjoy the opportunities that WWOOFing offers, to share and learn new skills and to sample a range of environmentally friendly lifestyles. I value community and am about to embark (in July) on an Australia-wide search for a co-housing community, where I can settle in the long-term. I see WWOOFing around Australia as complementary to that. It might also help me to decide where I might settle.

To go rural in my own backyard. Unfortunately, I won't have the chance to go on a rural placement as part of my degree so am looking to go rural and get some horse-y experience under my belt during one of my university breaks. I am especially interested in WWOOFing experiences that include horse care, mustering or other horse experience activities.

After travelling around the world, working in various office environments, my soul was craving a natural way to live in harmony with life. I have a passion for nature, animals, healthy lifestyle and would absolutely love nothing more than to learn from a pro who has experience with horses and organic farming lifestyle. Looking for a host where I can learn as much as I can, grow, evolve and be living my souls truth.  I’m open, dedicated, hard worker and look forward to be able to contribute and bring the skills I’ve learnt along the way to create some magic.

I am not afraid of physical work, know how to hold a drill, good at problem solving and learning on the go. I'd love to be either learning new skills in permaculture, animal husbandry, building shelters - anything really! Or being able to contribute with my existing skills in workshop facilitation, writing, podcasting, video editing, workshop facilitation, collaborative art-making, craft etc. As an artist I have a DIY approach, and if I don't have a skill, am pretty astute at learning it.

First joined in 2018 then did a spell on Workaway for a year overseas. Great experiences all round. I've also used couchsurfing dot com and found it amazing the people you can meet and the kind of world we live in where all these things are possible. I've always volunteered since childhood so this is just a continuation of that idea about working together and giving what we can.

We hope to gain knowledge and inspiration from people who work with land, animals and communities in diverse ways. We want to go outside our fields of knowledge and see what is happening out in the big wide world of farming and alternative living. We hope to one day start a project of our own and we believe that this is a step towards those dreams.

We want to learn a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way of farming. We want our kids to see this way of life and encourage them to learn real life skills. We have no ties and are wanting to travel Australia and see what we are missing with a 9/5 day job.

I've recently re-joined WWOOF because I will be on long service leave for some of 2021, and hope to spend some of that time WWOOFing. I love being outdoors and learning from WWOOF hosts. 🙂

Skills I Want to Learn:
I can see soooo many vegetables and fruits in Australia! and there is a lot of kind and almost things made in Australia. I was surprised because there are many import vegetables in my country. and I often see the word " organic" in Australia. I'm interested in organic food because I have some trouble in my body. I think the things I eat make our body. So I really want to know how they are made. And I LOVE Australian culture!! That why I want to join WWOOF.

Well after working for Woolworths as a manager for ten years I needed to challenge myself about what my passions are. I love working with my hands and creating things from wood and plants. Living off grid would be an ideal situation for me and my dog and I love open spaces to play around on. I want to learn more skills such as welding, self sustainability, arts, and meeting and learning from new friends. I want to turn the page in each chapter of my life and look back and see what an adventure I’ve had. Carpe dium.
