Full Property Description
Our farm is a hobby farm we have owned and operated since 2001.
Your accommodation is in a little cabin by the creek which used to be our weekender when we still lived in Sydney. It is now on Airbnb so I need at least one months notice of your intended visit because it normally books out every weekend. Alternatively most wwoofers since 2019 have stayed in our new house, which is still partly a building site but with a working bathroom and heating in winter.
We run about 20 head of Angus beef cattle and I also have horses, currently five. I always need help exercising the horses so competent riders could have riding counted as their work. But you have to be a really good rider as some of the horses are still being educated and all can be spooky. For the right person the possibility would exist to go to show jumping competitions and lessons.
We are in the process of building our main house using a lot of recycled materials. My husband Stuart has been collecting timber for decades so there are very interesting jobs.
I am originally from Germany but have lived here for over 26 years. I also speak a bit of French, I lived in Paris for 10 months many moons ago. We only speak English at home.
We enjoy the company of young travellers a lot and like to make them part of our family for their stay. We take them along to parties and other outings and like to make sure they see the area around us.
Organic/Biological methods we use
Stuart did a permaculture course many years ago but is now very preoccupied with the building. We enjoy growing our own food, my pride is our mango tree which produces quite a few very delicious mangoes every autumns.
