WWOOFers, we’re Oysterlife, an oyster farm on the beautiful Clyde River in Batemans Bay. We’re passionate about growing delicious, sustainable Sydney Rock Oysters, and we’d love for you to join our team. We manage over nine million oysters, a three-year journey from tiny spat to the plates of top restaurants. The process is hands-on and constant; our team of eight works on a continuous cycle of handling and sorting the oysters every four months to ensure they grow healthy and beautiful. As a WWOOFer, you’ll be an essential part of this process, helping us with a variety of tasks from harvesting to processing. You’ll learn all about sustainable aquaculture and get to experience life on a bustling oyster farm, working on the river everyday. Organic/Biological methods we use
Oyster farming Sydney Rock and Pacfic oysters. Oyster require no feeding, fertiliser or chemical treatments. They grow natural in commercial quantities By Oyster farming we not only produce sustainable seafood and replace lost marine habitat. Studies show 30-70% increase in marine biodiversity and abundance around oyster farms
