    Short Property Description

    Dragon Fruit Farm on 5 acres, We have around 3200 plants, Majority are under bird net. about 15 varieties. Season is around late October – May. We are 20 mins to the pristine beaches of Wooli, & Minnie Water. Plus a beautiful camping grounds, near the Yuragyir State Forest. Illaroo camping grounds.
    We are close to beautiful surfing beaches,20 mins and there is around 10 beaches, some are hidden, but are a great spot to go, National Parks are on the way to the beaches, great Hotel for Lunches, The Big Banana is only 40mins down the hwy, great local Icon, there is so much to do in there, great food, Tobogganing, Ice Skating, Laser Tag, lolly making. just to name a few. There is also great beaches on the way, Also Grafton town is only 20 mins away, lots of shopping, cafe’s,etc. Farmers Market.

    Wwoofers need to have their own Transport. It is Essential.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

    We do a lot of physical work, like whipper snipping, pruning, We use all Natural Fertilizers, Copper, Seaweed solutions, Potassium, Drip irrigation is in place in most of the blocks, We have 75% of the crop covered with bird netting, to deter them from eating the fruit. We have 3 bee hive to help with pollination, plus we harvest the delicious Dragon fruit Honey which is only seasonal. Picking the fruit by hand.

    Why I became a WWOOF Host

    We would like the extra hands around the farm, as we are getting older, the extra help would be very welcomed, plus we would love to teach people about Dragon fruit, It such a unique plant. We would like to share our experiences with growing Dragon Fruit.
