Short Property Description
Belted Galloway cattle farm in the southern highlands. We milk these cows, too – they love to be patted. We also raise chickens for breeding and eggs, have a Permaculture veggie garden, and have just planted hazelnut trees.
We are at our next stage of bushfire recovery having completed fencing and felling some trees. There are many tasks still to do even though it has rained and looks green. We need to expand the permaculture areas, constant weeding, pruning fruit trees, planting bare rooted vines and transplanting fruit trees.
We also maintain a small wildlife reserve on part of the farm and look at grasses to make sure that the wombats we co-exist with have enough to eat.
Volunteer tasks include feeding chickens, tending veggie garden, moving cattle to strip graze, milking cows (in non drought situations), weeding, collecting firewood, composting & worm farming.
Accomodation for 2 within our home. Shared meals, all cook together. Mixed diet. Vegetarians & vegans catered for. Children b.a. No smoking on property. Initial stay 12-14 days. Longer stays negotiable.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
Enjoy cross culture sharing and sharing our home with others. Love sharing the knowledge we have developed in understanding the land. Then receiving messages from past WWOOF on how they are going after returning to country of birth.
