Short Property Description
“Millpost” is a 2700 acre wool growing property 30km east of Canberra. We have been implementing aspects of permaculture design since 1979. We mostly run merino sheep but also some poultry, house cows, sheep dogs, and cats. We grow much of our vegetables and have a nursery of trees for planting on the farm.
Millpost is a beautiful part of the Southern Tablelands, with rolling hills, Box woodlands, native grasslands and some great creeks and dams to swim in. We sit next to Kowen Forest, a popular destination for it’s mountain bike trails, river, history and Molonglo Gorge. Other attractions include our old lime kiln and aboriginal axe quarry.
WWOOFers are included in all work on the farm and could be gardening, planting, working with sheep, fencing, building, whatever we are doing at the time.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
We have hosted close to three hundred WWOOFers at Millpost since 1992. Hosting WWOOFers has been a valuable exchange of knowledge and skills. WWOOFers have made a hugely positive contribution to our farm’s productivity and thus it’s viability.
