    Short Property Description

We are a family farm operating free range Livestock, cropping, flower farm, vineyard and winery. Nestled between the mountains and the river in  our own small valley with a diverse workload and as diverse relaxation. While we are not certified anything we follow the principles of being sustainable economically, environmentally and as a community. We have strong ideas about restoring soil health to allow our land to regenerate naturally which in turn provides us with the livelihood we aim for.

    Organic/Biological methods we use

our farming methods rely on doing what needs to be done to produce the crop at the time whether it is to be harvested for grain, turned into silage or bales or grown to turn back into the soil to provide nutrition and help for the soil to do what it does best.

We rarely use medication on our stock and only if it is the only action, except the sheep. Sheep love worms so drenching is necessary regularly.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

We were involved with WWOOFing when our children were younger and being homeschooled. It helped to broaden their horizons and bring the world to their education. It was such an interesting exchange at the time that we are now in a position to share our beautiful lifestyle with others and learn from each other. as well as get a helping hand of course.
