Short Property Description
Helm’s Deep is a terraced suburban block overlooking the Gippsland Lakes. We are renovating our home and garden to be more energy-efficient and sustainable.
We are learning and incorporating permaculture principles as we gain more knowledge. The focus this year is food forests, berry growing, and beekeeping. We are also creating shaded outdoor living areas.
We share our life with two Border Collies. We also have chickens. Our garden leads to a walking track along the lake and the township is a very easy 20 minute walk.
You have your own bathroom double bed.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
When we were farming we hosted International Agriculture Trainees and in the years since leaving the farm we have hosted overseas students and many French Engineering students. We have learnt as much from them as them from us as we relish the interchange of ideas and the windows to different cultures. Our garden is labour and knowledge intensive as we transition via Permaculture to a more sustainable home based life.
