The reason why I try to do WWOOF is that I’d like to have an opportunity to stay with people in different culture and work in a farm. I used to work on making jams with cakes and seasonal fruits, and that experience made me want to learn more about organic ingredients. I'm interested in joining WWOOF to deepen my agricultural knowledge, connect with people from different cultures, and expand my horizons. Since I have an interest in food, I also want to learn about traditional local dishes. I also love animals and nature. l will do my best for supporting you. I would be glad to work in your nice farm. Thank you.

I’m looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience on an Australian farm while reconnecting with my family there. I love learning and contributing to my community, and I am more than willing and capable of helping out wherever help is needed. Beyond just working on the farm, I’m excited to explore the culture, meet new people, and get a taste of life down under.

We have travelled much and had years working overseas. We find people of all cultures interesting and people who stay with us are treated like family. Volunteering is such things as making fences, gardening, making pathways, cutting firewood and generally keeping our 2 hectare property in order.

To help build our knowledge around sustainable agriculture, and to learn from more experienced agrarians. My parents were keen WWOOFers back when I was a child, and I have fond memories of our farm stays.

Last summer, I worked at the Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation on the North Shore of Oʻahu, where I spent most of my days on an educational farm. This experience was my first real exposure to regenerative agriculture, sustainability, and the vital role smallholder farmers play in our food systems—it completely reshaped my understanding of how interconnected we are with the land. Farming also holds a special place in my heart through my family. My grandfather had a farm in the rural countryside of South Korea, and many of my favorite childhood memories are from helping him: harvesting potatoes, plucking strawberries, and caring for the chickens. Those moments were how I bonded with him and first developed an appreciation for the hard work behind farming. Over the past few years, I’ve been busy with university and job recruiting, but I’ve felt a strong pull to reconnect with that part of myself. WWOOF is the perfect opportunity to revisit my passion for sustainable agriculture, get my hands dirty again, and continue learning from those dedicated to nurturing the land.

We're not able to take WWOOF volunteers at the moment. We live on a peaceful 5-acre permaculture homestead in the Lockyer Valley in SE Queensland just a 10-minute drive from the city of Toowoomba. It’s a productive Land for Wildlife property where we grow food to nourish family and friends. This includes a kitchen garden with veggies and herbs, a holistic fruit orchard, habitat gardens, and integrated chickens and other poultry. As semi-retired educators, we strive to live a simple life and enjoy active involvement in Permaculture Toowoomba Inc.

The reason why I wanted to participate in WWOOF is not only a small country like Japan, but also a lot of communication with more countries and people, the environment I have grown up in and people in different languages, get along well, improve my language skills, realize the size of the world, talk a lot, and be friends.

Being able to live in Australia on a small budget, while learning new things, meeting and helping locals. Back home in Germany, I want to have my own vegetable garden and I am eager to learn all about it.

I want to join because I want to embrace myself in the culture more and I want to benefit the environment and gain more life skills. I think it’ll be an amazing experience to build relationships with families and help them out in their own homes.

Kookaburra Community is an establishing community on a lovely 4 acre bush block on Jaara Country, near Daylesford. Currently one family resides at the community, Mum (39), Son (4) and Jack Russell dog. The intention is to have  other people join the community and WWOOFers visit. The veggie gardens are establishing, with our humanure and our enthusiasm to grow as much food as possible during our short growing season. When we’re not growing food, we are repairing the surrounding bush by removing white fella weeds. Culture and connection is the most important part of this community, firstly acknowledging First Nations culture, traditional to the lands where we live. We regularly cook on the fire and share songs and dance in honour of the ancestors of the land and our own. This is truly a wonderful place to learn about Aboriginal culture and history, whilst living comfortably in the dwellings surrounded by bush.

We are an 88 acre citrus, botanical and livestock farm. With operational cafe and Gin Distillery within the property. We adopt regenerative practices where we can to achieve a no chemical approach to our produce outcomes. Main commercial produce is the fruits and botanicals for use in the Distillery. In 2019 we also planted 350 oaks and pines that have all been inoculated with a truffle fungi for our white and black truffle "truffiere" . Once again no chemicals are used so it is a labour of love and willingness to assist the growth of our trees. We are also in the middle of setting up an organic style garden to provide the cafe with produce and our meat for the cafe comes from our own stock or neighbouring properties and must be all grass reared and fed. We are just outside the township Yarra Glen deep in the wine area of the Yarra Valley. Our farm and distillery is operated by our whole family. My wife and I help and assist in all areas of the operation. Our son is our head distillery and our daughter is our amazing foodie that along with Gayle (my wife) develops ideas for the kitchen and looks after mainly the cafe side. We have had a long history in hospitality and our farm is a journey of learning and passion. We have 3 grandchildren that are still quite young and have no idea what lies ahead of them - Yet!. But the 4 year old's favourite thing is collecting the eggs and feeding the girls (chooks). There is always lots to do but we go about it in a fun and relaxed way. Were not here to kill ourselves working and if you would like to share a part of our dream with us, then we would love to share it with you.

The property comprises 100 acres of pristine sand dunes and native bush overlooking Wauraltee Beach - excellent for swimming, walking, rowing, cycling & fishing in leisure time. The property also has kangaroos, wombats, birds, etc. We have obtained some advice from a nearby aboriginal community regarding native foods. The property has several thousand quandong trees. Quandong fruit sells for $70/kg and is prized for jams, tarts and as a superfood. Volunteering includes collection of fruit (seasonal), assistance with property maintenance such as fire protection near buildings, etc. Prefer WWOOFers to have their own vehicle to get to and from the property. Accommodation for 3 within our home. Shared meals, mixed diet. No children. No smoking on property. Initial stays 3-5 days, longer stays neg.

I joined WWOOF because growing up in the suburbs, I always felt drawn to the idea of farm life. being surrounded by nature, working with my hands, and experiencing a more self-sufficient way of living. There’s something so grounding about it, something that feels like a return to the basics of what life should be! Whenever I have extra money, I book horse rides through the hinterlands. The freedom and scenery are incredible. Each ride reinforces my desire to experience that lifestyle, even if only briefly. Another big reason I joined WWOOF is my love for organic food and sustainable living. I've been trying to get my mum on board with eating more organic produce (we’re still working on it—baby steps!), but I really believe that what we put into our bodies matters. Yes, organic food can be expensive, but I see it as an investment in long-term health. If I can learn first hand how to grow my own food, even better! WWOOF seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine all these passions—nature, sustainability, and hands-on learning. I wanted to experience the day-to-day realities of farm life, gain practical skills, and connect with like-minded people who share a deep respect for the land. Plus, there’s something so rewarding about working outdoors, knowing you’re contributing to something meaningful.

Maeve Gardens, a subtropical paradise in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. Blessed with 10 acres of land we farm using purmaculture techniques. One of our goals is to set up a small scale ginger and garlic farm. We love food and are excited to grow ginger and garlic organically. My wife Moira and I live a simple life in Maeve and spend our time making good food, doing yoga and writing (when we're not weeding). We are a creative family and have had a career in the circus in the UK for most of our lives before moving back to Australia 8 years ago. We are motivated and happy people to be around so if you want to help us with our vision  please reach out.❤️🌱🪱

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
