The property comprises 100 acres of pristine sand dunes and native bush overlooking Wauraltee Beach - excellent for swimming, walking, rowing, cycling & fishing in leisure time. The property also has kangaroos, wombats, birds, etc. We have obtained some advice from a nearby aboriginal community regarding native foods. The property has several thousand quandong trees. Quandong fruit sells for $70/kg and is prized for jams, tarts and as a superfood. Volunteering includes collection of fruit (seasonal), assistance with property maintenance such as fire protection near buildings, etc. Prefer WWOOFers to have their own vehicle to get to and from the property. Accommodation for 3 within our home. Shared meals, mixed diet. No children. No smoking on property. Initial stays 3-5 days, longer stays neg.

I joined WWOOF because growing up in the suburbs, I always felt drawn to the idea of farm life. being surrounded by nature, working with my hands, and experiencing a more self-sufficient way of living. There’s something so grounding about it, something that feels like a return to the basics of what life should be! Whenever I have extra money, I book horse rides through the hinterlands. The freedom and scenery are incredible. Each ride reinforces my desire to experience that lifestyle, even if only briefly. Another big reason I joined WWOOF is my love for organic food and sustainable living. I've been trying to get my mum on board with eating more organic produce (we’re still working on it—baby steps!), but I really believe that what we put into our bodies matters. Yes, organic food can be expensive, but I see it as an investment in long-term health. If I can learn first hand how to grow my own food, even better! WWOOF seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine all these passions—nature, sustainability, and hands-on learning. I wanted to experience the day-to-day realities of farm life, gain practical skills, and connect with like-minded people who share a deep respect for the land. Plus, there’s something so rewarding about working outdoors, knowing you’re contributing to something meaningful.

Maeve Gardens, a subtropical paradise in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. Blessed with 10 acres of land we farm using purmaculture techniques. One of our goals is to set up a small scale ginger and garlic farm. We love food and are excited to grow ginger and garlic organically. My wife Moira and I live a simple life in Maeve and spend our time making good food, doing yoga and writing (when we're not weeding). We are a creative family and have had a career in the circus in the UK for most of our lives before moving back to Australia 8 years ago. We are motivated and happy people to be around so if you want to help us with our vision  please reach out.❤️🌱🪱

I joined wwoof to connect with people who have similar values as I do, and to find a resonant landing place in Australia. I prefer a lifestyle that is based on the land, and I best connect with people who do as well.

One of my friends who is also here with an WHM Visa recommended it to me since she is using it and thinks that this is the best way to find jobs for the 88 days.

As I lived in Singapore my whole life, I've always wondered what it would be like to explore other countries. I'm fascinated by the culture, the people from all walks of life and i would want to experience everything before i go back to school.

I am Eden andwas born and raised in the seaside city of Brighton in the UK with my sister and parents in the south-east of England. I was brought up constantly going on camping trips, long walks, wild swimming, and generally being outside. I have lots of experience on workaway and have stayed some incredible places from a wildlife sanctuary in Bolivia to working at Hostels in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru to spending two months working on farms in Spain. I also have experience working in restaurants since I was 16 and educational outreach with my university.

I am joining WWOOF to meet people with similar interests and to travel throughout Australia. I am looking to do rural work to hopefully extend my visa here in Australia! I am interested in learning about organic farming and sustainable living. I hope to achieve work experience through WWOOF as well as finding a community of other travelers and hosts.

I have a 5 acre property in the Sunshine Coast hinterland with a large vegetable garden, two orchard areas, various fruit and nut trees including bananas, mangoes, citrus trees ( orange, limes, lemons, mandarins), macadamias, mulberries, pecans, pomegranate, jaboticaba, rainforest tucker trees like Davidson's plum and sandpaper figs. A creek with endangered rainforest habitat, which my family have helped regenerate and revegetate with the help of landcare groups, runs along the length of the property for approximately 200 metres, and there lovely swimming areas, as well as a reasonable section of around 300m to kayak. The riparian zone requires maintenance from invasive weeds. There are two dwellings on the property: the main house with a large decking adjacent to rainforest, which is a great place to observe birdlife, and there is also a cabin which has accomodation separate from the main house, with a toilet and bathroom and large living area. I keep sheep and poultry, both of which provide produce ( meat and eggs) plus help with producing compost and fertiliser for the garden, and keeping the grass down. I have a single flowhive beehive which I collect honey from periodically. I have a dog, Dodger, who does what dogs do! He is very friendly and well behaved. The property shares a Land for Wildlife status with a neighbouring property, and we have recently had 300 koala habitat trees planted, most of which are thriving. Currently my 21 year old daughter and 19 year old son (as at November 2024), my two youngest children of 7, are living here as well, however there will be absences due to attending University in Brisbane or travel. My property is not a commercial property, so I am ineligible to sign for second visas

I mainly have two reasons to join it. First I am interested in nature job, like a farm and ranger. I joined some conservation volunteer event in Japan and I was wondering how other countries' people did those. Second, I would like to meet new people. It's difficult to meet especially local people when I travel so, I think woofing takes me opportunity of it easily.

I joined WWOOF as a way to learn some new skills (looking to get some hard skills!) and to see and hear about interesting, and maybe unconventional, ways that people in Australia are living. I am looking to be able to contribute to a community, or family in a way that leaves me feeling useful at the end of the day. I'm also just really interested to meet some new people and listen to their stories!

I want to be exposed to culture different from that of Japan and I am interested in various food and the way of agriculture. Since I am a university student and I cannot spend a lot of money, wwoof is a good choice for me because I can stay host family. This means I will not only save money but also experience the local life.
