Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Biodynamics practices and techniques
Hello, I have always been passionate about organic farming and sustainable living, which is one of the main reasons I'm drawn to Australia. Having spent 8 years there, I fell in love with its organic farming practices and beautiful natural landscapes. Back in Korea, I've gained experience in tourism and accommodation management, which has helped me develop strong organizational and interpersonal skills. As someone who values sustainable living, I am eager to learn about organic farming methods hands-on. While I may not have direct farming experience, I am physically fit, enthusiastic, and ready to fully immerse myself in farm life. Living in Australia has taught me to embrace new challenges and adapt quickly to different environments. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to your farm while learning about sustainable agriculture. I believe my positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine interest in organic farming would make me a valuable member of your farm community. I look forward to not just working on the farm, but also experiencing the authentic Australian farming lifestyle and creating meaningful connections.

We joined WWOOF because we are two friends spending a gap year in Australia, and we want to experience the country in a genuine and meaningful way. Both of us are passionate about nature, sustainability and learning through hands-on experiences. We believe that WWOOFing is the perfect opportunity to understand more about organic farming, eco-friendly living and rural life while meeting inspiring people along the way. We love the idea of connecting with local hosts, sharing stories and becoming part of everyday farm life instead of just being tourists. We want to learn how to care for plants and animals, work with the land and live in harmony with nature. Through this Experience we hope to gain new skills, grow personally and contribute positively to the communities that welcome us. For us, WWOOF is not only about traveling but also about friendship, cultural exchange, and living simply while appreciating the beauty of Austrlia.

I did the first part of my trip in Melbourne and now I'm aiming to do a road trip with my car from Sydney to Perth, and the reason I'm joining WWOOF is precisely to enrich this road trip (new cultures, new jobs, new people).

Since becoming parents, we have felt a strong desire to live in a way that brings hope to the next generation. We want to step away from a fast-paced, convenience-centered lifestyle and instead live more intentionally—closer to nature and in harmony with others. Our dream is to create a life rooted in self-sufficiency and aligned with natural rhythms. We are especially interested in learning about regenerative practices and sustainable ways of farming and living—not just in theory, but through real-life experiences. We see WWOOF as a valuable opportunity to learn from those who are already living this way, and to be part of a global network of people who care deeply for the land, community, and future. We hope to learn, contribute, and share joy and respect with the people we meet along the way.

This is our first time joining WWOOF, and we are very excited about the experience! Our main goals are to help people with their projects, discover new ways of living, and immerse ourselves in the local culture. We also want to improve our English skills—we currently have some basic knowledge, but we’d like to strengthen it so we can hold conversations more confidently. We are eager to learn and aren’t afraid of hard work. Whether it’s gardening, animal care, or household tasks, we’re ready to lend a hand wherever needed. We are passionate about connecting with people, learning from others, and contributing positively to a shared environment. WWOOFing represents an amazing opportunity for us to step out of our comfort zone, embrace new experiences, and grow both personally and professionally. We hope to be part of your project and look forward to this rewarding adventure! Best regards, Romain & Inès

We are two Uni students from Melbourne studying science, and are both very passionate about the environment and finding sustainable ways forward. For us, WWOOFing is an opportunity to learn new, practical skills, and to gain a better understanding of how we produce our food. Furthermore, we both love to travel overseas, but have barely travelled our own state/country, and would like to explore the variety of unique landscapes and places.

I'm looking to learn the skills and knowledge to build a future that feels viable to me and this seemed like a really good way to do that. It's also a lovely way to travel and explore different land/climates, and meet people that share passions and interests 🙂

I joined WWOOF because I would really like to experiment life in a farm. I think it would be a great experience for me and my studies. I hope to learn new skills and knowledge by WWOOFing. And as I am still unsure about what to do in the future, I hope WWOOFing will help me find a vocation.

We would like WWOOFers to be outgoing and enthusiastic, and if time permits have fun participating in other outdoor activities. Accommodation for 1-2 in our home. We enjoy Meat-style meals. I have a passion for meeting people and learning new skills. WWOOFing is a great way to explore the world on a budget, and I cannot wait to learn more about organic farms and their impacts on their communities. I think every person could benefit from spending time on a farm & learn what it takes to grow the food on their table.

Hi WWOOFers, I apologise that I am unavailable at present due to illness. Watch this space - I will take this down when back up and running!! I have a large property in the beautiful rainforest area of Kangaroo Valley in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Unfortunately, we were badly hit by the Australian bushfires in January 2020, and much of the work on the farm still centres around bushfire recovery and construction. We live a pioneering lifestyle without all the usual comforts: we have a composting toilet, off-site shower, outdoor 2-burner gas stove for cooking etc. We do now have a small solar power system, and internet. Accommodation is basic but comfortable. Food is good - that's important! You can also bring your own van, or sleep in your own tent if it has a sewn-in floor. WWOOFers can learn building (often using timber we fell ourselves), including earth building, developing vegetable gardens and food forests, and many other diverse skills as we work together on a wide range of projects. No prior knowledge is needed, as I am happy to teach you everything you need to know. The purpose for the property ultimately is to establish long term accommodation for homeless or at-risk young people. My background is in social work, and I have many years' experience working with children and families struggling with various issues. I really want to emphasise to all prospective WWOOFers that we still have a long way to go in restoring the property. In many ways it still looks like a disaster zone. Life is difficult here and I don't want you to be under any illusions that there is something romantic about colonial living. It is hard, and it is not something that just anyone can cope with. I need WWOOFers who understand this, and who thrive on working hard and making a contribution. So far, WWOOFers of this kind also find the experience deeply rewarding in a range of ways, as they have expressed in the reviews submitted below.
