Skills I Want to Learn:
I want to experience a different life, outdoors and back to nature... my previous experience of nursing has been extremely rewarding and challenging and continues to be a great asset to my life. But now I want new challenges - to learn about permaculture, organic farming techniques and animal care. I like the bit where it says "no experience necessary just enthusiasm" I hope to travel through Australia but that might be a bit difficult right now, but I intend to start my experience in Victoria. It seems a great way to experience life with locals and really get to know rural areas of Australia. I've been in Australia this time since March 2020 spending over a year in lockdown Melbourne so its great to have freedom again. I have done some my own garden and gardening with friends and helping out. I have done a beginners DIY course and try and fix things myself...sometimes it works... WWOOF seems a well organised and safe system so here goes...51

I have interest by the woofing because it is a new opportunity to meet other people in the news place. I would like to work in the farm. I don’t have preference to task, but I like give helping in different tasks at good atmosphere. I can work with animals, landscaping, little build (able to handle heavy loads). I don’t scare to learn new practices and I am enthusiastic about novelty.

I would like to join WWOOF to travel, meet like minded people, and to have a lifestyle change. I am currently finishing up a psychology degree at university and am hoping to travel and explore before settling into a 9-5.

Doing voluntary work in the organic farm sector would be a great introduction to Australia, it also aligns with my own values of environmental awareness and in giving something positive back. I also hope to live and work with new people and to be part of a team where I might learn new skills and embrace new experiences. I love the outdoors and nature and would like to discover this side of life in Australia. I am available to start work immediately!

I heard from friends that it is a great experience and well worth looking into. I am a hard worker with an interest in agriculture and being outdoors. I hope to meet likeminded people, stay in a welcoming place and learn a new skill or two.

I want to move around and meet people. I had a good experience with wwoofing with my daughter in 2006. Now I feel that I have time and skills to offer. It is a good way to see this beautiful country and I enjoy working in nature.

I joined WWOOF after being offered to do a small construction job with a WWOOF host. I will hopefully experience a different way of Australian living too, as I have been living in a large city for 6 months. I would like to face certain challenges like dealing with Australian wildlife and bush living. I love how even though I will be learning great things from the experience I also have the opportunity to give back to my WWOOF host by building a well needed structure for him.

I want to have an organic garden when, eventually, I can afford to rent a house not an apartment! In my current place I’m limited to window boxes and window sill saucers to grow things. WWOOFing would let me get some experience before committing. Basically, a win-win for both of us 🙂

I've covered most of my reasoning in the "About me" section but I chose WWOOFing over what I'd previously used overseas (Workaway) just to filter out all the non-farming volunteering hosts 🙂

The reason why I joined wwoof this time is because I have always liked volunteer activities and it was fun to research wwoof. In addition, I would like to actively consult and work on my knowledge and wisdom while making use of my past volunteer activities and experience as a nurse. Through this volunteer work, I would like to learn a lot so that I can refer to it in my future work and activities, and connect it to my own growth.
