We recently joined the WWOOF organization in Australia, and we'd like to share our reasons for doing so. There are several compelling factors that led us to make this decision, all of which are closely tied to our passion for travel, nature, and cultural exploration. First and foremost, we are avid travelers who are always on the lookout for new adventures and experiences. Australia has always fascinated us, not only for its breathtaking landscapes but also for its unique wildlife and diverse cultures. Joining WWOOF provides us with the opportunity to explore the country from a whole new perspective, away from the beaten path. Another reason for our WWOOF membership is the prospect of getting to know Australian cultures and customs. We firmly believe that the best way to immerse ourselves in a country's culture is by living and working alongside locals. The chance to reside and collaborate on farms and in rural communities promises us a unique insight into Australian life. We thrive in outdoor settings and relish the beauty of the natural world. WWOOF offers us the chance to meld our love for nature with our desire for new adventures. Working on farms and engaging in ecologically oriented projects will allow us to toil in natural settings, learn sustainable practices, and embark on exciting outdoor endeavors. In conclusion, we have joined WWOOF in Australia with the hope of gaining new experiences, immersing ourselves in Australian cultures and traditions, and indulging our passion for outdoor adventures in the beautiful Australian landscape. This journey promises to be a remarkable chapter in our lives, filled with personal growth and unforgettable moments.

I am looking for a way to travel around Australia while learning along the way. I would love to learn more about growing plants, working on the land, and am longing to get back into this beautiful country and have an adventure. I spent 6 months working at a cactus nursery and would love the chance to learn about growing food and raising animals as I plan to one day have land of my own with some animals i.e. chickens, goats, cows

I chose WWOOFer because I would like to work on a farm. I like working with animals and can handle them well. I would also like to learn to ride horses and then ride them out. I would also like to learn more about gardening and plants in general, what they need and how to care for them.

The two of us : We are two friends who want to have a new experience. We will arrive in Australia on September and we thought that the best way to meet people, locals, share expereinces and find a work that motivates us is by joining WWOOF. We have also spoken to people who already have done that, and they were happy about it, they said that was very good experience, which helped us in our decisions. We look forward to reading your responses.

To help others, learn about sustainability, growing food, crafts, natural living, and to see the world. I am tired of living the hectic modern life with office work and not contributing to being at one with nature and the environment as a human being. I'm excited to meet hosts and be of help! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Skills I Want to Learn:
Since I have quit my office job,  I have wanted to discover how it is to work in a farm since I like being in the nature and doing a physical activity. I want to become a WWOOF volunteer to learn about sustainable farming and also get to know a community of local people. Being a WWOOF volunteer would also give me time to find a job (potentially in an organic farm) without having to spend money on food and accommodation while looking for it.

To experience the lifestyle of living on a farm, and the maintenance & animal care that is required. I grew up in a small suburban unit but through meeting friends with an interest in 4wding and exploring, I quickly realised how much I love being out in nature and the peace it brings. Long drives (while blasting some Zach Bryan and Warren Zeiders of course) is my ideal quick getaway. I would love to learn more about managing horses and cattle while maintaining a large block of land.

To live, work and have fun on farms 🙂 And of course to get to know amazing people and learn more about different types of farming. I am very interested in regenerative farming practices, animal welfare, responsible slaughtering and basically how all things on farm are handled in the best interest for all. I also have questions on how farmers in Australia are doing regarding their income, and how they see the future of farming in Australia. I also would like to get closer to animals again as I feel like I have been sitting in front of my computer far too much during COVID and also now during my first full time position. And I also joined because I simply have the urge to be closer to nature again. I will be having my own car so I am free to drive a bit out as well. Lastly, I am also hoping to get some of my Australian no worries mentality back that I once had when I spent a year there.

Even though my life is here in the city, it can get abit much and I try to escape for long weekends whenever I can. I hope to buy my own property in the long (very far distant) future and want to accumulate as much knowledge and Skills in preparation for that. I figure wwoofing is the perfect way to meet great people, up skill and get my farming Fix at the same time!
