I want to be the change I want to see in the world. The future of a purely digital age doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I see the depth of value in union with the land; taking care of it is taking care of yourself and those around you. It brings people together. It connects people with all living things involved. More sharing, more empathy, richer connection, more physical work for a healthier body, more nutritious food for a healthier mind... It is a more beautiful life in my eyes.

I'm currently taking a year to travel around Australia, and am taking advantage of the under 30 work/holiday visa opportunity that Australia grants people. I have previously wwoofed in the US and Germany, and found it was an excellent way to travel and meet people while learning new skills.

My name is Lazein. Born in 1975. I grew up in a village near the China border Northern part of Myanmar, I used to the village life even though nowadays I am living in Singapore. I enjoyed cooking, reading, and travelling. I would like to go to places like orchards, flower gardens or vineyards. I speak Chinese, Burmese and English. I am married with 2 children. They are grown up. That's why I am able to travel without any worries. I have some farming experience too. I am healthy. Well knowledge of food. Especially south east Asia food. I love to talk about food. I am the kind of person trying not to give people trouble. I am independent. The only thing is I can't drive. I hope to meet some new friends and exchange life experience.

This is the beginning of my adventure in Australia in Adelaide. I would like to discover the australian culture, beautiful landscapes and also learning new skills. Also I hope to be a good halp for my hosts. I have a bachelor degree in agronomy so I'm really passionate about plants, nature and conservation. I have some working experience in planting, harvesting, mulching, operation pratices in agroecology.

WWOOF gives the opportunity to renew my visa, my dream is to come again in Australia and visit as much as I can and know everything about this land. Plus I have the chance to help doing works that could help the areas hit buy natural disaster and bush fire. Also why I am in Australia is because I would like to have experiences that connected me with the people that lives in this beautiful land

I joined WWOOF as I want to extend my visa in Australia ASAP and this was a great hands-on way of doing that whilst learning about sustainability on farms… oh, did I mention you meet some pretty amazing people? The dream combination of ticking off my visa requirements + getting an insight into a real local experience!

150 acres, subtropical orchard (avocadoes, custard apples, sapote etc), 14km from Kangaroo Valley township (2 ½ hrs Sydney) A really good place to learn about vegie growing & permaculture. Great bushwalking, waterfalls, swimming holes. Oversupply of all the usual wildlife. Volunteer tasks include all aspects of vegetable gardening, firewood, home & property maintenance - whatever needs doing. Extremely beautiful setting, with excellent separate accommodation for 1-2 people. We make our own bread, beer, preserves. Meat, milk etc locally sourced. Shared meals. Can P/U Nowra / Bowral.

I joined because I want to experience the richness of nature and spend time in a natural environment away from city life. My goal through this experience is to develop a deeper connection with nature and understand the beauty of the Australian landscape.

My dream is to work at an international agriculture company with many people from different cultures. To come true my dream, l want to learn a lot of knowledge about agriculture and to be sociable. I major in agriculture at university to solve the many problems problem. Because of the population explosion, we face serious food shortages. Until now l have studied the problem only in classes so l can’t imagine the problem and solution. I think I should experience farming. I live in an urban area so I have no opportunity for farming. WWOFF is just a system that l need. The way to grow crops in Australia is different from the way in Japan so it is very interesting. I also want to live in foreign countries to improve my English skills and to learn about Australian culture. To join WWOOF alone is very hard for me but after WWOOF, I will be more active. WWOOF is my first step to come true my dream.

Many of my acquaintances in the backpacker community shared their stories and experiences with WWOOF farms, and I find it quite interesting to learn about these realities. I want to contribute and get to know rural Australia. Getting to know new realities and people, as well as completing my 88 days to extend my visa.

I have been learning English since I was 3 years old and wanted to improve my English.And I wanted to experience local English.I visited Australia when I was in my third year of junior high school.At that time I was only able to spend 10 days in Australia, so I would like to know more about Australia.I want to experience many different cultures. For example, Christmas in summer.

Australia is a beautiful country which is a top player globally on regenerative ag and permaculture. So to come here to learn about the practices while also enjoying the country seemed like a good choice.

I discovered WWOOF through a friend who had an amazing experience, and I knew it would be a perfect fit for my gap year. I love the idea of combining travel with meaningful work, learning about sustainable farming, and experiencing local life up close. I’m excited to step out of my usual routine, meet new people, and develop skills that will stay with me for a lifetime. WWOOFing feels like a great opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to eco-friendly practices, and immerse myself in different cultures and ways of living.

I joined WWOOF through American Institute of Foreign Studies (AIFS) and am interested in learning about life on Australian Organic & Permaculture farms and learning about growing and producing organically.

I joined WWOOF to meet new people, travel, connect with nature, and learn new skills. As I figure out life post-grad, unsure of what I truly want to do for work, I believe WWOOFing is the perfect opportunity for me to travel while I continue my learning and growing journey.

Having travelled the East Coast of Aus previously, this time I want to see more of the less touristy places. Rural towns and farms have fascinated me, as a European you hear that Australia is the big cities by the white beaches. Farms and agriculture has never been something I have even even passed a thought on, so I want to explore this!

WOOFING is a great opportunity to learn a lot about nature, plants and animals. I would like to support local farms and also learn about the Australian culture.

I joined because I volunteered with my class on a self-sufficient farm and I was really happy and relaxed in that environment I always have wanted to go to Australia.
