I love nature and want to learn English, so when I heard that Australia had such a program, I was very interested. My job in Japan is working in the kitchen, so I also handle foodstuffs and am interested in food. I am also interested in animal husbandry. I joined the program because I wanted to help in any way I could.

26 years ago my mum was, just like me, traveling in Australia and she was, for a long time, working on a farm...so I kinda wanted to try to work on a farm as well. Also I really like to be in the nature, like going hiking or mushroom picking... My mum is born in Slowakia and ther is a farm we are visiting (and helping out) every time we're there...so the farm work is not completely new to me.

I like meeting new people and hearing their stories, helping out and just have a good time. I would like to do something meaningful with my time and broaden my world. I like to be physically active during the day and think that wwoofing is a nice way to do that.

We join WWOOF because we want to improve our English skill, to discover new people and new domain of work. We also want an alternative way to discover Australia culture.

We are hoping to connect to a local community through WWOOFing. We plan to spend 10-months in Australia, and want to get off the beaten track, which we hope to learn about from our hosts and fellow WWOOFers. Caleb and I (Ceilidh) both enjoy the satisfaction and tiredness that comes from working with our bodies, but also want to strike a generous work-life balance on our trip, leaving us time to eat well, read and enjoy the country.

I want to work with my hands, build, dig and meet like minded people. I hope to contribute in a positive way that enables life to thrive. I like to live simply and with minimal impact, I am attempting to trade for the things I need as I find this to be a good challenge and slows the pace of life.

My name is Jack Bridges. I have just moved from British Columbia Canada. I graduated in June of 2023 with a degree in education. Since my arrival in Australia, I have travelled and done some CRT work from K to 12 specializing in science. Previous to my CRT work I worked at a hotel doing some cleaning and maintenance. I have also worked as an arborist where I do everything from shaping small shrubs to cutting down large trees. I also have some experience as a mountain guide, where I would go on 3-7 day trips on horseback, hiking, or on canoes. I also currently still do contract work for a company called Braindate. I my spare time I like to ski, snowboard surf, and mountain bike.

I joined Wwoof because I like doing a little bit of work each day to get that feeling of completion/accomplishment yet I'm not really motivated by money so find it restrictive to have a localised permanent job. I am raising a puppy and would like to expose her to various animals and circumstances to teach her how to interact well in multiple scenarios. I'm enjoying my current pace of cruising around, fishing, camping and generally living outdoors, but I feel like something is missing...and I think it might be that I'm just living for myself and my enjoyment and not really creating or learning anything...even paradise can become stale. I would like to offer my skillet and mindset to help people with their dreams and plans and maybe learn a thing or two along the way, it's been enjoyable to Wwoof both here and in France so I figured it should be again. I'm more interested in feeling purposeful through meaningful work than anything else. Creating something or just helping out would give me some satisfaction.

As I'm traveling for 5 month in total, I would love to stay at one place for a few days (preferably 2 weeks) and experience the life of the local, while getting my hands dirty and experience sweating under the Australian sun.

I joined wwoof because I want to help a good cause in a more rural setting that suits me better. And I want to learn new things and improve my level of English which is not very good.

I joined WWOOF because I appreciate working in the nature and I‘d like to get to know an Australian farm. I enjoyed living in Sydney a lot, but now I am looking forward to get another view of Australia by supporting your sustainable way of living.

I completed an exchange in Melbourne Australia last year and I am excited to go back! I really loved my time there and made a lot of great connections, and I want to explore more of NSW and Queensland when I go back. I think WWOOFing would be a great opportunity to do that and a chance to gain some skills.

The aim of woofing is to practise English as much as possible. We have the basics of English but our accent, pronunciation and vocabulary need work. We think that woofing for one or two weeks is a good way of immersing ourselves in the language as quickly as possible.

I’ve heard about WWOOFing through a good friend of mine who said it really broadened her perspective and took her on some wonderful adventures along the way - I’m not 100% sure why beyond that I’m open to new experiences and have a lot to offer (hands on skills and through my skills and knowledge developed to date)

We join WWOOF because we prefer to work outside rather than inside. we prefer to be outside to be in contact with nature and the sun. We want to learn new things from other people and a different culture. We enjoy being in contact with local people to learn to live in a different way and get out to our comfort zone.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
