By joining WWOOF, I hope to learn to slow travel and spend more time getting to know an area rather than only spending a few days. I enjoy cooking and gardening, so I think learning about your farm is a natural progression for me regarding my interests.

WOOF represents a lot of values that resonate with my way of life: I am passionate about an eco-friendly coexistence with our planet and am confident that creating shared spaces and communities that work together towards this goal are essential for battling climate crisis. I am a big supporter of moneyless structures and I'm also an avid learner, who likes to share skills and acquire new ones with and from the people around me. I am looking for a good and honest conversation as much as I am looking for a place to sleep.

I enjoy a slower style of travel and having a solid routine to be in. I appreciate the exchange that WWOOF offers and the financial strain it can take out of traveling and paying for accommodation and food. My experience has also been that the rural areas offer more beauty and unique experiences.

I embrace WWOOF with an open mind, determination, and a passion for learning, seeking an experience that will enrich both my skills and my life. My goal is to acquire new abilities, particularly in sustainable living and organic farming, which align with my long-term values. The hands-on experience will not only provide me with practical knowledge but also connect me with others who share my dedication to the environment and farming. WWOOF offers me the opportunity to explore various parts of Australia, all while helping me stay within our budget and supporting our future goals. I plan to pursue a master's degree in fall of 2025 and understand that this next chapter of my life will bring increased responsibilities. Knowing that these responsibilities will continue to evolve, I see this as the perfect time to travel and immerse ourselves in the WWOOF experience.

I have always wanted to travel, as well as learn more about sustainable agriculture. I enjoy working with my hands and have wanted to volunteer on a farm for a while. I hope through this experience I challenge myself physically and mentally, while also learning about other cultures, practices and ways of life.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I first heard about wwoofing from a friend of mine, who was in Australia in 2019 and I instantly loved the idea of getting to know locals while doing something good and learning about sustainable methods of eg. farming. I hope that I will learn new skills, improve my English and meet interesting and open people through wwoofing while getting an insight in the life away from tourism.

I would love to learn new skills and just do things I won't have the chance to do in a city. I'd like to escape the bustling nature of the city and experience the quiet life with your gardens and animals.

We are very interested to learn more about regenerative farming and resilient ecosystems in Australia. We would also love to learn more about Australians and the Australian way of living. During our travels to the other side of the world we find it important to have a positive contribution to the environment and people of the country, and we think WWOOFing can be great way to do so.

I'd like to create my own farm in the future in Japan, but I don't have some skills for plants and animals to grow up. So I'd like to learn it in the WWOOF. Also, I like cooking but I can’t make some foods except Japanese food. So I’d like to exchange cultures in WWOOF and I'd like to cook some foods I learned in this experience for my family in Japan. Then I’d like to experience instructive experiences which I can experience only in Australia!!

I want to volunteer with families and organisations so I can immerse myself in a different way of life and do what I have always dreamed of doing. I hope to gain animal care experience and to become comfortable being independent and with solo travelling.

We joined WWOOF to fill some of our time travelling, learn about different cultures and work in an environment that we would not have the opportunity to work in the UK. We hope to meet new people, learn and spend time in an alternative location.

I joined WWOOF so that I could get the opportunity to live through new and novel experiences that I wouldn't get back in my home country, Singapore. I think it's easy to live with familiar comforts, but there's so much that the world has to offer and I believe that now (while I am still young, able-bodied and I don't have family commitments) is the best time for me to try new things, discover myself, become more independent, and hopefully find a sense of purpose! I'm looking forward to learning more about permaculture, sustainable farming practices, living sustainably, partake in the beautiful experience of growing and tending to something, as well as spending time in nature.

A strong interest in agricultureI'm passionate about participating in agricultural volunteering for several reasons. Firstly, I believe in the importance of sustainable food production and want to contribute to local communities' self-sufficiency. Secondly, I value the opportunity to connect with nature and learn traditional farming methods firsthand. Additionally, I see volunteering as a way to give back to society and support farmers who often face challenges such as labor shortages. Moreover, I'm excited about the chance to meet like-minded individuals and form lasting friendships while working towards a common goal. Overall, agricultural volunteering aligns with my values of environmental stewardship, community engagement, and personal growth, making it a rewarding experience I eagerly anticipate.

We both come from the Midwest, so have an admiration for farmers and want to know what it means to work on an organic farm. We’ve gardened at home but would like to learn new methods for sustainable living when we return.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
