Skills I Want to Learn: Organic Practices, Permaculture/Biodynamics, Biodynamics practices and techniques
To discover new places, meet new people and learn new skills whilst travelling around Australia. I want to learn and grow my skills in different types of farm work and discover different methods of farms. I grew up on a small cattle farm in the English countryside though never had a lot of hands on experience working on the farm I would love to learn and try my hand at different types of farms whilst I make my way across Australia. As a solo traveller I think it is a great way to meet new people and discover new places. Two of my sisters also did WWOOFing a few years ago and recommended it to me as a great experience which they both have very fond memories and really enjoyed meeting hosts and other WWOOFers on their travels.

I joined WWOOF to deepen my connection to nature, learn hands-on skills in sustainable living, and give back to the land that sustains us all. Over the years, I've developed an attitude of environmental stewardship WWOOF offers an incredible opportunity to work alongside like-minded people. For me, it’s not just about learning farming techniques or contributing to projects—it’s about living in harmony with the natural world, sharing knowledge, and creating meaningful connections with people and the environment. I’m excited to learn from hosts who bring their unique perspectives and expertise to this shared mission. WWOOF feels like a natural extension of my personal values and a wonderful way to embrace a life that’s intentional, grounded, and in tune with nature.

I have an acre of land that I would love to turn into something like a forest garden so I am keen to learn whatever you are willing to teach me. I am also a big fan of alternative economies (shared/gift economy) that are less transactional and more interpersonal in nature, so wwoofing is a natural fit! And like I say (in the about me section) rejoining has brought me full circle back to my post-uni days when I was an avid wwoofer.

I have hopes of eventually going into the Peace Corps. With that, I have learned the value of ecotourism while traveling. You always leave a place in a better state than when you got there. I grew up going to horse camp, and have always had a love for animals. I believe skills are to be shared and that help should be a universal concept. I really just wish to gain new knowledge and to discover a place from a new perspective.

I’m super excited to be joining WWOOF during my sabbatical. It’s been a long time since I did any major volunteering – the last big experience was in 2013 when I taught English to kids in India. I worked alongside volunteers from over 20 countries, and it was such a powerful, eye-opening time. Since then, I’ve done some local volunteering, but I’ve really missed that deeper sense of purpose. I’m eager to get back into it, be more intentional with my time, and contribute in a meaningful way. I’ll be traveling around Oceania, with Australia as my first stop. I’m really looking forward to getting to know the people, learning about the culture, and spending time in nature. I’ve always been curious about farming and how it could shape my life, so I’m excited to get my hands dirty, learn from you, and help out however I can!

To gain new Experience in the field and Participate in a new Country untill I manage my Residency and my Work Permit or Studies. Also because I need accomodation and some tasks to do instead of sitting alone in my Hotel and doing nothing more than searching for a sponsored Job.

I have previously WWOOFed in Italy because I wanted to learn more about sustainable farming methods. I found this experience to be very fulfilling and while I have the time, I would love to give my time to helping small scale farms. I’m very interested in food culture.

I'm interested to learn about horticulture and permacultural practices in Australia. Specifically interested in the usage or native plants to facilitate biodiversity and growth. I also take an interest in the construction and design of buildings via old-fashioned and traditional methods such a clay and stone brick-laying.

I joined wwoof because then I hope to have more chances to find one or more jobs and also a place to stay. Because I was advised to join to have a better chance of finding a farm where I could have three months of work to renew my working holiday visa.
