I wanted to live with Australian people and do work related to agriculture. I'm interested in Australian life and working animal farm, so I think it is a good choice to help their farm while living with them. I also want to practice and improve my English language skills.

Not available Autumn and Winter. I live in Warburton about 75 kms east of Melbourne, in the beautiful Yarra Ranges. My property is just one acre, but I have a vegetable patch, 15 established fruit trees (12 of them citrus), blueberry bushes, various other berries and a range of Australian native trees and bushes attracting native birds.

I joined WWOOF through AIFS and l am interested in learning about life on Australian Organic& Permaculture farms and learning about growing and producing organically. I am a really open-minded person and think that WWOOF is a great oppurtunity to meet know people and get to know something about the actual life in australia - outside of the very touristy areas.

This human experience is wild and abundant and I am eager to lean into learning more about sustainable living and gaining primitive skills. I’ve been living off grid, in different communities and homesteads for the greater part of the last 6years. I am so passionate about this alternative lifestyle and the ways I’ve grown with it. So more is more and I will keep growing in this journey through wwoofing until the day comes and I set down my own roots.

Skills I Want to Learn:
This is because I want to experience a lifestyle closely related to agriculture and nature. Although I am currently living in an urban area, I am interested in sustainable living and food self-sufficiency in nature. I also want to experience local culture and values through interaction with local people. I would like to have the opportunity to deepen my connection with people and learn different ways of thinking and living not only through farm work but also through communal living. As a researcher of food and agricultural education, I would also like to play a role in communicating its value to those around me. As a first step toward this goal, I would like to learn and gain awareness in the real world through WWOOF activities.

I am keen to gain land management skills and learn about permaculture farming techniques, as I hope to one day have a permaculture farm and land of my own. I am passionate about living as sustainably as possible, and consuming little, and the best way to do that is to connect with community, grow your own food, and work together. I am hoping to get to know you, your community and family, your land and animals, and that we are able to teach each other new things. It is also a small dream of mine to document my travels and teach others via social media and/or blogging about the great places and communities that Australia has to offer, and why supporting local farmers and businesses is one of the most sustainable things you can do for the environment. Think Global, Act Local.

Earlier this year, I had the incredible opportunity to travel for a month in the southwestern and western regions of Australia. This journey was filled with memorable experiences, such as spending two weeks camping with friends, attending captivating a show at the Health Ledger Theater, and feeling the adrenaline rush at drag a racing and speedway event at Perth Motorplex. What truly stood out to me during my travels was the remarkable hospitality of the locals, their dedication to preserving nature, and their love for wildlife and farm life. These aspects left a lasting impression on me and sparked a keen interest in sustainable living and farming practices. I am eager to immerse myself further in this lifestyle through WWOOF and to bring my energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn to your farm.

I'm looking to learn more about organic farming, cooking, and many other opportunities. Very excited to spend time in Hawaii! I visited Denmark last Fall to WWOOF and I fell in love with the country. I've learned some of the Danish language from online apps and was able to communicate a bit with locals when I was there. Having that experience was truly life changing and I hope to continue that good streak. 😉

Im in Melbourne for a wedding but I also want to get my hands dirty! The farming scene here is amazing and I would love to be part of it for a while. I’ve never worked with animals (and holistic grazing) and I would love to start exploring that.

It's interesting for me to see different agriculture methods. Indeed, I always lived in mountains, used to have a garden when I was a child and loved to have my hands in the soil. Moreover, I love animals, I like to understand how they live, how we take care of them, what they like or not... On top of that, I want to meet new people, doing what they love and learn with them might be, for sure, really enjoyable. By working for someone, I firstly want to be helpful and useful. And secondly, it's a way for me to have a new experience for, who knows, working in the agricultural environment later...

Hilldene is a hobby farm in the Avon Valley, WA. I have dairy cows and goats for milking and grow my own vegetables and fruit using permaculture practices. The milk is also used for producing butter and cheese. The work is primarily feeding and taking care of the livestock.  Also an opportunity to learn how to milk the cows, make cheese and butter. There is a large vegetable garden to feed the farm, no-till practices are used, experience will include, learning how to compost, raising seedlings, planting out and maintaining the garden.  Animal manure is collected from the livestock yards and used in the compost heaps.

We both like to travel but we also want to get touch with australians . We think WWOOF ist a good way to meet people and get to know their way of life. The nature is a big reason for our membership because in big towns while staying in hostels there is not much of that. So we thought WWOOF is a good way to see the real nature of australia. Another reason is that we already saw a few people who want to achieve something like building a small village or an animal shelter. We think that there are so many people with great goals and we have the time and ambition to help them.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I would like to do some woofing because I think it is an excellent way of meeting local people and exploring the country in greater depth, away from the big cities. It would allow me to share my daily life with local people and learn more about Australian culture, whether it is its history, its food or its slang, which I haven't yet mastered. Through this experience, I will also be able to learn farming skills that will help me find a job on a farm later on. I am someone who loves manual work (I have been tinkering and painting since childhood). Having grown up in the countryside, this would give me the opportunity to rediscover some of my roots by being in a more rural environment and closer to animals. I like the fact that many hosts are committed to organic and sustainable farming. I am committed to being more environmentally friendly myself in France.

We are eager to expand our skillsets, as we're both interested in farm and garden work. We haven't had many opportunities in our lives to gain these skills, so we're excited to learn a lot. We look forward to meeting all sorts of different people as well, and pushing our comfort limits through putting ourselves into situations we're not familiar with. We've heard amazing things about the connections that people have made through their WWOOFing experiences, and that's very appealing to both of us, as meeting new people has been our favourite part about travelling so far.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
