The reason I applied for the Australian wwoof program was because I wanted to actually go to Australia and have new experiences, such as learning about the way local people live and eating food that is only found in that country. Also, I wanted to improve my language skills by actually going to an English-speaking country, and I also wanted to learn about the values and ways of thinking of people from various countries by talking to them.

I joined WWOOF because I think it's a great way to meet locals, help out where needed and get to know the culture and country from a different point of view than when you're just travelling through.

I'd like to live and work in harmony with nature, communicate with people in a natural and open way, and live a healthy life. I also want to improve my English. I'm sensitive to chemicals like synthetic detergents or fragrances etc. and I love natural things, so I'm happy to work on organic farms.

Because of the fact, that I have been involved in farm life from an early age, I would like to get an impression of this way of life in Australia. I am curious to see what differences and similarities there are. I hope to gain many impressions during my stay and learn new aspects of farm work/ agriculture. I am always open to new tasks and would like to learn more about gardening and planting, as I have little knowledge in this area. I‘m looking forward to work and live together in harmony, with a lot of joy and mutual trust.

Organic native lemon myrtle plantation and Bamboo nursery. We're a family run property with a few kids, grandparents and a goofy friendly dog. We grow our own food, chickens, bees and love gardening. There's plenty to do with weeding, pruning, mulching, propagating and lots of projects happening - clearing reeds in the dam, designing and building a larger composting system and other building and gardening projects. Would love skilled workers with ideas or even enthusiastic workers keen to help with routine tasks. We're 10 minutes to Crescent Head beach and 15 minutes to Kempsey. Were keen to learn more and implement what we can in terms of sustainability, permaculture, off grid, improve soil, plant natives and all the good stuff. Maybe we can learn from each other

The first time I heard about WWOOFing was from a friend of mine I met during the Erasmus student exchange. He explained it briefly to me and I was immediately drawn to the idea of doing it myself. The possibility of staying abroad completely immersed in a different culture, working on a farm, as well learning about the various methods of organic farming directly from experienced hosts. It sounded absolutely perfect! The part that I love the most about visiting other countries is getting to meet new people, learn about their culture, experiences and everyday lives. I am a student and I try to use every opportunity that we, as young people have, to learn about the world. That is why WWOOFing seems like a perfect choice for me! As a member of the younger generation worrying about the environment I know that broadening our horizons on the more eco-friendly methods of living our lives is crucial, as climate change effects impact us more and more every year. Helping eco-conscious and organic farmers feels like the best way to learn and thus make more conscious choices throughout the rest of my life. As I have written before – nature is very important to me - most of my hobbies are inherently connected to it. That is why I also want to learn how to be able to help preserve it. I am also a very enthusiastic person who is always up for a new challenge and gaining new skills.

I joined WWOOF to gain practical experience in sustainable farming, work with animals, connect with people who share my passion for nature and the environment, and explore Australia’s countryside. I’m excited to learn about farming practices, contribute to meaningful projects, and connect with people who share similar values. WWOOFING offers a unique opportunity for my first time in Australia and combines work, travel, and cultural exchange, which aligns perfectly with my desire to grow beyond myself.

Because I have couples of weeks before going a way and I want to experience something new, in a new place. And also have a break from the city, meeting new people. And also I did not meet that many Australians. During my farm we always were a lot of backpackers from all around the world. I would love to meet, discus and connect with local, I think it is also part of the adventure. Then I am also super curious to learn new thing.

The property is 1/2 an acre and I am slowly establishing permaculture gardens. The house is on the edge of a small town, with a swimmable river most of the year. The house is the sort of house that makes you smile, its old and quirky and yellow. There are also bedrooms available in a converted shed and plenty of space for tents/vans. It is about 45 minutes drive from Wilsons Prom, and local towns are about 10 minutes drive. South Gippsland is chock full of beautiful beaches, forests and places to explore.

The more laps around the sun I do, the more I find my values and instinct making most of my decisions. There's an innate sense of belonging in most of us, and for me that's a desire to live more in harmony with the planet and the environments that I find myself in. I practice regenerative farming where I can. I buy organic. I make my own preserves, I bake my own bread, I cure my own meats, and I hunt, forage and gather my own food as much as possible. I love animals, and I love plants. And I love learning more about how better to enable their lives and life in harmony with them. And super importantly, I'm also really curious about other humans living this way, and really keen to continue growing my wonderful community of likeminded humans. I've been lucky enough to meet so many people who share a love of nature and a life that doesn't harm the environment, who are sustainable, and who are excited about staying out of Coles and Woolworths. I'm excited about learning from them, and teaching where I can.

I feel like I'm a citizen of the World. I have got news job expectations and I'm seeking myself for a new way of living right now. I love meeting people, discovering foreign cultures and mainly challenging my life by getting out from my confort zone. As we speak, I need a break and, as a countryside girl, I want to feel again close to nature and animals. I'm excited to start my WHV in Australia, even though this feeling of excitement is obviously mixed with a bit a fear and doubts ^^
