I joined WWOOF because I enjoy working outdoors and want to learn more about organic farming. I hope to gain practical skills, meet new people, and experience more farm life in Australia. I’m especially interested in animal care and would love to help while exploring Australia 🙂

I stated it above, but to expound, after 9 years of living in an urban jungle I am looking to reconnect to the earth as it is so filling to me. I have a lot of gardening experience and have built community gardens in every place I've lived over the last 12 years. I haven't had the chance recently and would love to use some of my vacation to enjoy the earth. OR other embodied tasks- I work as a therapist on a computer fulltime, and I miss using my physical strength to accomplish tasks!

I have always wanted to participate in WWOOFing and now finally have the chance (enough time and means to do so). I love nature, gardening, farming, and livestock and animals in all their forms. I grew up working with the land and am not afraid of hard work. I am excited to learn about organic farming practices, which I think are more important than ever, given the changing climate and the need for sustainable land practices.

My grandfather used to grow rice when I was a child. I really liked those times. Even as a child, I was moved by how people worked so hard to grow crops. Now, I am studying English hard because I want to enjoy cultural exchange and learn something new. WWOOF allows me to enjoy both, so I decided to join!!

I would like to apply for a second-year Working Holiday visa in the future. Since I love animals, I am looking for livestock-related work, but many jobs require prior experience. That’s why I would like to start by volunteering to gain hands-on experience.

Because I believe is once in a life experience. One friend told me about her experience...She still doing it and the chance to meet new people with your same thoughts about life can be higher than in your normal job for instance. I take this platform as an opportunity to exchange lifestyle, activities, conversations with everyone. We are willing to learn and the people on the other side is willing to teach. I think is an excellent opportunity to know every different country by doing this.

I am pursuing an undeniable communication that has me wanting to understand more. Understand the dirt, the flowers, the fruit, the bees, the livestock, the people, the purpose. I live in on the east coast of the United States. I have done some woofing/volunteering along some of the east coast for just under 2 years now. I have also done some farming in Costa Rica and earlier this year I stayed on a sheep farm in Oregon during lambing season. For a year I have been studying bees and beekeeping with a local organization, Tidewater Beekeepers Association. I have some hands on experience working Langstroth hives, one on one with a beekeeper during spring and summer maintenance. During my woofing experience in beautiful, mind blowing Australia, I am looking to work with and learn from rad souls and offer my helping hands to accomplish AL:L the tasks needing to be accomplished on the farm/homestead.

Family property at Snelling Beach on Kangaroo Island.   Our business and lifestyle are immersed in nature.  We spend a great deal of time cooking gourmet meals for ourselves and our paying guests, local shops are far, so we are wanting to grow more and more food on site.  We already use Mulberries, figs from our Orchard and we forage Salt bush, tetragonia (spinach) and Samphire which are all included in our menus. Our goals with helpers into the future we will aquire chickens and grow much more vegetables. We are offering very comfortable seaside accommodation for two (double or king bed), inside a private dwelling. A food allowance of 350 dollars per week, per couple as well as some family meals together at least once per week in exchange for 4 hours per day help per person. (five days work per week so you can set off on longer trips across the island) Currently we are seeking help with those who have knowledge about doing up vans or buses with some carpentry skills. Specifically, knowledge of making miniature bathrooms would be great but we know that could be long shot. We have a huge old bus that already has a bedroom and power but needs to be finished off with a bathroom for future WOOFERS vision to be fully realised. Accommodation for you would be in a different house until the bus is finished. We are also needing caring for our beloved 2 year old Kelpie, Xochitl. Other work might include outdoor garden work such as brush cutting, mowing and some planting of herbs and simple veggie garden fencing You will need a driver's license as we are super remote.
