    Short Property Description

One hundred acres of bush-land embraced by the Cathedral Mountain Range (Cathedral State Park) surrounded by Wilderness and wildlife.  The pristine “Little River” within short walking distance.  The State Park only a kilometre away.

Many varieties of birds, including lyrebirds, blue wrens, honey eaters, king parrots, cockatoos, galas, magpies, long necked heron, wood ducks, mistletoe birds  which visit my kitchen and garden.

Wombats, wallabies and kangaroos visible from bedroom and lounge room.
Dams and lakes to swim in.

Netted  organic Vegetable garden and organic orchard (occupied by apples, pears, nectarines, peaches, blue berries, kiwi fruit, cherries, raspberries, pine-nuts, oranges, lemons, grapefruit ).

Fruit and veggies mainly for home-use but surplus shared with family, friends and neighbours.

Garden surrounding house is full of  multi-coloured spring flowers – azealias, Rhododenrum, japanese maple, jonquils, daffodils, tulips, Iris, Australian native plants. Mother – Eva Jellinek was “Australian Gardener of the Year” in 2009 (see ABC.net.au).

My house –  like a ski chalet – wood cabin in the mountains built fifty years ago out of native Mountain Ash hardwood (from the tallest flowering tree in the World).
The house has cathedral ceilings in the living room with every bedroom in the house with big window views of the Cathedral mountain range.

Silence at night..no traffic noise. At evening stars light up the skies. The Milky Way is overhead. We are at the end of the road.

My property has been recognised for its superb natural values by the Victorian State Government and is covenanted by Trust for Nature….which means it can never intentionally be destroyed by man/human.

Why I became a WWOOF Host

I am eagerly seeking help to place stones and soil around a fire refuge I have just built.  I am doing this work myself at the age of 75 and it will take me too long.  It is pretty physical so only keen wwoofers should apply.   There is also work in my orchard and garden.

I do everything myself – house cleaning, cooking, gardening, house building/mainetenance – it is exhausting.
I am 75 years of age++ and have a wide range of hobbies – photography, movie-making, drawing, pottery, sculpture, swimming, deep sea diving, reading, films, walking, forest and nature activism and am writing some books.
I love travelling, seeing the world, meeting lots of friends and having guests.
I work as a volunteer on waste management in Indonesia and am advising the local government of Flores (Eastern Islands of Indonesia) how to manage the waste from their hotels, restaurants, boats and private homes.
Above all I want time for all these other activities and thus need help in my garden.
I like sharing my home with people from all over the world who resonate with me….I speak three languages – English, Czech, Indonesia and would like to learn some more. I love different cultures, sharing ideas and learning how to cook different types of food from all over the world
