Short Property Description
We’re not able to take WWOOF volunteers at the moment.
We live on a peaceful 5-acre permaculture homestead in the Lockyer Valley in SE Queensland just a 10-minute drive from the city of Toowoomba. It’s a productive Land for Wildlife property where we grow food to nourish family and friends. This includes a kitchen garden with veggies and herbs, a holistic fruit orchard, habitat gardens, and integrated chickens and other poultry. As semi-retired educators, we strive to live a simple life and enjoy active involvement in Permaculture Toowoomba Inc.
Organic/Biological methods we use
Our focus is on sustainable living with permaculture ethics (Earth Care, People Care, Fair Share) at the heart of our daily lives and ethical choices. We believe that nature is our greatest teacher and we use the permaculture design principles as a framework to evolve and nurture our property. This includes many perennial plants that create ecosystem stability and provide food for humans and wildlife, with a few quick-growing annual vegetables in our kitchen gardens.

Why I became a WWOOF Host
This is an opportunity to share our little piece of permaculture paradise, mentor others, and have some much-needed extra hands to help in the garden.
