We are a group of friends who love to live in harmony with nature growing our food and dedicating time each day to tend to the beautiful land on which we live. We have several permaculture gardens, thousands of banana plants, hundreds of different fruit trees and a few chickens. We have a flowing creek, miles of walking tracks and forests. Our property is an oasis and the perfect place to stop and rest while on the busy back packers trail while joining in with life here. We also run small yoga and meditation retreats and are working towards offering permaculture workshops. We deeply respect the resources of the land and use compost toilets and solar showers. We are vegetarian and refrain from drinking, smoking or taking drugs of any kind and are open only to welcome friends who can live this way as well. Accommodation options are dormitory in the mainhouse according to availability, yurt or a tent

I'm a curious person by nature, and I'm interested to experience living and working on different farms to learn and understand their ways. I hope to be able to find like-minded mentors and pick up new skills and grow in my knowledge in areas like permaculture, closed-loop farming and organic farming. In Singapore, I've volunteered at community gardens as well as at a family-owned farm growing edible flowers and micro-greens. I also did a 2 months stint at an urban farm that grew salad veggies.

Farm consisting of cattle, horses and dogs. Developing my own self sufficient lifestyle, growing vegetables and fruit. Along with my cattle. I have a way to go, setting up the farm how I’d like it! Lots to do.. The 300 acres has timber and clear land. Farming oats for cattle. Fencing is on going. The farm is 20 minutes from Town on a reliable road. The weather is hot in summer and rest of year is very pleasant living. We get up to 35/40 degrees days. I have early morning work, rest in the middle of day for a few hours then a hour or two in the beautiful outback evenings. The land is flat and private but close to all amenities of town. The timber is a pine Forrest of 90 acres and I would one day love to st up a a bnb in amongst the trees. I have lived in this property only a year, however I was born and raised on a cattle/ sheep property out west. Loved many years living and raising a family in a small city. Now retired and appreciate helping the wwoofers community and working together as a family.

I joined WWOOF because I want to complete my 88 days of remote work as quickly as possible, a good friend of mine recommended WWOOF to me and I heard many positive things about it so here I am! My goal here is to find a good place to work and meet people with whom I can share new and fun experiences. It's important for me to find a serious place where people put focus on the work being done correctly and taking care of each other.

I have always had a passion for seeing things grow whether that be plants, animals or humans and when it comes to wwoofing, I love the idea of growing your own food. For my future, I can see the possibilities of having a homestead of my own. I bought a few acres of land a couple years ago and would like to eventually convert it into something that produces food and live off the land. My partner grew up on a potato farm and I have been learning lots from her and her family and we both can envision potentially being a host farm one day. One of my goals is just to learn the day to day of a farmer here and all the trials and tribulations that go along with that. I love the idea of having cultures from all over the world come together with similar mindsets. I find it very interesting seeing where the food comes from that we buy in the supermarket. I love the idea of being self sufficient and not relying on big box stores for our food. But I am also a firm believer in collaboration with others and people coming together to share their experiences and to achieve a common goal. We can learn a lot from each other and I am excited to do just that.

I‘m very interested in learning about new cultures, meeting new people all over the world, learning new skills, being in nature and learning more about a sustainable lifestyle. Another thing and probably the main reason that motivated me to be a wwoofer, was my father, who was a wwoofer himself and had an amazing time in New Zealand.

Joining WWOOF will allow me to meet new people and have the opportunity to learn more about agriculture and how to maintain a sufficient ecosystem. Hopefully, I will learn about the daily lives of Australian workers and the importance of preserving the land.

We joined to be able to experience the life of organic farmers across this country. We reckon it would be a nicer way to see Australia by going from property to property and helping out and learning along the way, on how everyone does their different types of farming, rather than towing a caravan from town to town, and saying you have travelled Australia.
