I am interested in an environmental issue and an agriculture. For the first half of 2023, I worked in Tasmania, did fruits and vegetables jobs. Since coming to Sydney, I have been volunteering for City Farm on my day off. I joined WWOOF because I want to learn how can we live a sustainable life without putting a burden on the environment and to meet new friends who have various backgrounds and experience😊

To connect with those looking for help in exchange for gardening knowledge & accommodation! I'm looking for farm and cultivation experience and after 3 years in corporate office jobs I have a yearning to be out in nature and to meet like minded people who share my love for things that grow!

Skills I Want to Learn:
We think it will be a great experience for our family to experience live on and the workings of an organic farm. We are sure it will provide us all with so many insights and experiences that we can bring into the rest of our lives. Furthermore, we love to meet new people and this seems like a great way to do it!

City/Town: Yungaburra
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: In Our Home, Separate Building
SORRY BUT WE ARE NOT TAKING ANY MORE HELPERS FOR A FEW MONTHS. I HOPE YOU FIND A GOOD HOST, AND TRAVEL SAFE. We have a Small Property on the Atherton Tablelands near Yungaburra where everything grows quickly, including the weeds! We have lived here for over 20years and hand planted every tree on the land (it was a bare paddock when we bought). We have let our gardens & land fallow (grow wild) for a year and its time to get them back working and plant exotic fruit & vegetables for family and friends again. Our granny flat for WWOOFers is very comfortable, and we have many lakes & waterfalls to explore.

As mentioned before, I am very driven about creating a self-sustainable life for myself once I have the resources to build my own little house and have a place to start growing my own food. I am looking for a more meaningful way to spend my time and money. I currently have a little bed in a community garden where I started growing some veggies and herbs and I almost was in tears when I saw the first seedlings growing up into beautiful little veggie plants. I feel so connected to nature it only makes sense for me to start living the life of a WWOOF-er and start learning more and more about taking care of and preserving it but also what it can give us in return. It also seems like a great way to meet like-minded people and share thoughts and experiences and learn and grow together.

We have always been interested in the idea of Wwoofing having friends who have been hosts over the last few years. We are transitioning to retirement and as a way of traveling around Australia, we think Wwoofing is a great way to meet people, learn new skills and explore areas of the country we might not have considered.

We are located in the beautiful Yarra Valley just outside Melbourne, Australia.  The area is renowned for it's wineries and natural features such as Mt Donna Buang, waterfalls and the meandering Yarra River.  We have a self contained, one bedroom cottage on our 9 acres, which is ideal for a solo traveller, a couple or of a pair of friends.  It is perfect for those wanting some time alone in a serene and peaceful environment.

I have recently completed a permaculture design certificate in NZ. I am now looking to learn more of the practical skills through wwoofing. I also view wwoofing as a great way to travel - by getting to spend more time in a place rather than just passing through, meet new people and learn about their cultures, at the same time as developing skills. It is also a great opportunity for reciprocity - to hopefully give back to the communities that I am visiting.

I will be spending about 1-2 weeks in April 2024 to gain a new perspective. When I was young, I was committed to environmental conservation and communication skills studies. But I gave up on the college since I had to focus on raising my child on my own. Recently, my child became independent and I started finding my own life again. So I decided this trip and I think WWOOF would be the perfect way to connect with people and share your work/ thoughts each other. Thanks.

I joined WWOOF to participate in this exchange of good practices and to meet people. I hope that I will be able to bring my skills and good mood to help the hosts and live some new experiences and also maybe learn to do things I have never done before!
