I've come to this quite late in life (57), but feel very comfortable to be joining now. This winter and spring (2025), I intend driving north from Tasmania (possibly beyond Cairns) and engaging in the sharing and acquisition of new knowledge and skills, and hopefully some memorable experiences of new friendships. Edit: Unfortunately, my winter trip has come to an early conclusion – but thanks to those who reached out, and perhaps we can meet later down the line.

To get to know different people and places within Australia. I have a strong affinity for sustainable living and would like to explore less urban parts of Tasmania. I have been in Hobart for the better part of a year and would like to see where the next part of my adventure will bring me.

We are excited to join WWOOFing in Australia to experience the country's unique culture and farming practices up close. As nature lovers, we see this as a great opportunity to work on different farms, expand our skills, and learn new things. We also appreciate how WWOOFing allows us to travel sustainably, form authentic connections with local hosts, and discover parts of Australia that most tourists never see.   When we return to Germany, we are considering living in a self-built tiny house in nature. Our dream is to lead a more self-sufficient lifestyle, growing some of our own food and possibly living off-grid. We believe that the practical experience we gain through WWOOFing will teach us valuable skills for this future.   Through WWOOFing, we also want to explore different approaches to life and see various lifestyle concepts. This will help us better understand what kind of life we want to create for ourselves, balancing sustainability, freedom, and connection with nature.

In addition to developing farming skills, we want to learn about sustainable practices that help protect nature. We are also excited to experience life in Australia, exploring its unique landscapes, rich culture, and meeting friendly local people. This opportunity will allow us to broaden our perspectives and appreciate different ways of living. At the same time, we hope to improve our English through daily communication with our hosts and fellow volunteers. WWOOF provides the perfect environment to practice language skills naturally while connecting with people from around the world. I am keen to learn more about living directly with the land—growing food, working with my hands, and connecting with the rhythms of nature. I’m curious about sustainable living and eager to gain practical skills while being part of communities that care for the Earth. I am a beginner farmer with an open heart and mind hoping to deepen my connection with the earth and like minded people like you. All my love!

Skills I Want to Learn:
I joined WWOOF because I love nature, animals, and the idea of sustainable living. I want to gain hands-on experience, learn new skills, and connect with like-minded people while exploring different parts of Australia. I’m excited to contribute through hard work, whether it’s helping with animals, gardening, or general farm tasks. For me, WWOOFing is not just about working but also about sharing experiences, learning from hosts, and immersing myself in a different way of life. I look forward to meaningful exchanges and unforgettable memories!

Skills I Want to Learn: Animal Care, Organic Practices
I joined WWOOF because I have a deep interest in both animals and agriculture. I grew up in the countryside of Japan, where I helped my family grow rice and vegetables from a young age. These experiences made me comfortable with farm work and taught me the value of working with nature. I’m also a member of my university’s equestrian club, so I truly enjoy taking care of animals and spending time outdoors. While there are WWOOF programs in Japan, I wanted to experience life on a farm overseas to challenge myself and broaden my perspective. I also hoped to improve my English and communication skills by working closely with local people. Unlike studying abroad in a classroom, WWOOF gives me the chance to connect with others through real, shared work. In the future, I hope to live and work abroad, and I believe this experience will help me take the first step toward that goal.

I will be settling in Tasmania eventually and I would like to learn as much as possible about working/farming this beautiful place sustainably and respectfully.

WOOOF has always been in the back of my mind as something I wanted to do. For years I had my own land to manage. Now that I have sold it, I am hoping to use my time and energy to explore new communities and learn how people are negotiating regenerative agriculture.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I didn't really know what I wanted to study or work after school. That's why I decided to work and travel for a year first. Australia has fascinated me for a long time because my cousin lived in Sydney for a few years and I find nature and animals very exciting. When I was planning my trip, I came across Wwoofing and it was just perfect. I like animals and would love to get to know the typical Australian farm life.
