I joined WWOOF after I heard my coworkers mention it. After researching on my own, I loved the idea of an opportunity to gain hands on experience in learning about sustainable practices on Australian Farms. In my time at Field and Fork Farm, I have become especially interested in pursuing a career in sustainability and agriculture. WWOOF offers me the perfect opportunity to learn in an amazing place!

I want to experience a different life, outdoors and back to nature... my previous experience of nursing has been extremely rewarding and challenging and continues to be a great asset to my life. But now I want new challenges - to learn about permaculture, organic farming techniques and animal care. I like the bit where it says "no experience necessary just enthusiasm" I hope to travel through Australia but that might be a bit difficult right now, but I intend to start my experience in Victoria. It seems a great way to experience life with locals and really get to know rural areas of Australia. I've been in Australia this time since March 2020 spending over a year in lockdown Melbourne so its great to have freedom again. I have done some my own garden and gardening with friends and helping out. I have done a beginners DIY course and try and fix things myself...sometimes it works... WWOOF seems a well organised and safe system so here goes...51

I have interest by the woofing because it is a new opportunity to meet other people in the news place. I would like to work in the farm. I don’t have preference to task, but I like give helping in different tasks at good atmosphere. I can work with animals, landscaping, little build (able to handle heavy loads). I don’t scare to learn new practices and I am enthusiastic about novelty.

Skills I Want to Learn:
I love food and animal. So, I want to create food system which never force livestocks to be hard. I think both of Australia and Japan pay respect to the nature and that is the common point. That's why I want to learn more about the agriculture in Australia. Especially, I'm really interested in chicken farm. Crop farming is okay as long as you keep some chickens!! Let me take care of them!

I'm interested in learning more about organic farming, particularly cattle farming. I love organics and the impact it has on the soil, nature, and life in general. I worked for a month on a mostly organic cattle farm last year. I'm interested in continuing to grow my experience and developing more connections.

I am joining WWOOF because I believe in sustainable ways and in cooperation. Also, my second daughter Pia is living in Australia at the moment and we will be visiting her in August so I would like to come there earlier with my son Giovanni (who will be 14 in June) and work with him in a farm because I thing it could be a very good experience for both of us. We normally live in a city so I feel a good few weeks of real work in nature could be really healthy as well as enriching, at the same time Giovanni will be practising his english and learn from a very different environment and culture. As for me I really feel the need of immersing myself in nature and do some real physical work.

Doing voluntary work in the organic farm sector would be a great introduction to Australia, it also aligns with my own values of environmental awareness and in giving something positive back. I also hope to live and work with new people and to be part of a team where I might learn new skills and embrace new experiences. I love the outdoors and nature and would like to discover this side of life in Australia. I am available to start work immediately!

I heard from friends that it is a great experience and well worth looking into. I am a hard worker with an interest in agriculture and being outdoors. I hope to meet likeminded people, stay in a welcoming place and learn a new skill or two.
