I joined as I think it is a fantastic opportunity to learn a great deal about the land and how to manage it, but also to give those who are working to make their environments better, a helping hand.

I grew up on an organic/biodynamic farm in southern Tasmania / Lutruwita ( Maktub Biodynamic Farm ) , and our family have been WWOOF hosts for as long as I can remember. I've always been inspired by the incredible people we would have come to stay at Maktub over the past 27 years; and it has felt a natural step to begin WWOOFing myself. To travel and explore in a richer way, learning new skills and ways of living, and meeting new people.

WWOOF has come highly recommended to me by friends who have travelled abroad as WWOOFers. The ethos of WWOOF as well as the opportunity it offers for cultural exchange really drew me to give it a go!

I want to join WWOOF because I'm interested in the life of the local people and how they work and live. In my region where I live we have a lot if agriculture in different types (animals, grapes, corn and so on...) and I would love to see how this works in Australia! I hope, through WWOOfing I make great experiences with local people and I learn more about their day and worklife.

I want to work on a farm because I want to feel a connection with nature. Agriculture is essential to our survival and I believe in the importance of coexisting with nature. The constantly changing seasons and weather allow for constant learning opportunities. Working in this environment will allow me to grow and gain valuable experience.

I live in the Blue Mountains but it's too cold for me here to work outside so I wanted to travel somewhere warmer and do something useful there and got excited when I saw the opportunities on WWOOF.

I am looking for a place to stay and would also love to work on an organic farm. During covid I went back home to live with my parents for a couple months and got them to start composting, planting cover crops, and trying to improve their soil quality. I have a great time while gardening.

I’d like to get 2nd visa. And, since I came all this way, I want to have a new and special experience. In my view, Australia has a lot of agriculture lands, many uses for taking crops in a different way. When I was in University, I went to Mexico to protect sea turtles for volunteer. It was beautiful moment, so I resigned because I want to have a that experience again.

The main reason we joined WWOOF was for the experience it offers. After spending some time in Melbourne we are eager to escape the city and experience rural Australia. From our background in farming we both enjoyed the work and found it rewarding and peaceful working outdoors. We are also keen to meet new Australias and see a different way of living.

Joining a/ to help those who need it and b/ to learn hands on. I know there’s lots of work out there to help other peoples permaculture works and am happy to help as many as I can on my journey to purchasing my own land and setup. I’m also single with 2 kids to ex partners, I’d like to make new friends and meet like minded people through my travels and maybe meet someone. I figure I do something I love with passion and keep my fingers crossed. I’m excited to get started. Not sure about traveling overseas to work atm just cause I need to be close to my kids till they are older. I might even bring them along in the future on school holidays if they are keen. The world has given me much and now it’s time I gave back.

I have volunteer experience picking vegetables in Japan. From then on, I became interested in working on a farm. I realized that the food that we casually eat is brought to us through the various efforts of the people on the farm, and I was made aware of the importance of food. So next time, I would like to experience a farm in Australia and gain new insights.

Animal welfare and conservation are huge passions of mine and is something I would love to be involved with in some way. Gaining experience and working with others who share my thoughts will be of huge benefit to me. I would like to be more knowledgable about animal welfare and our environment and work hands on with those that help support it.
