I've always wanted to do farming and touch nature in Australia . I'm a university student, I have to look for what I really want to do and what type of work I'm involved with. When I think of that, I like communicating with others and being involved with foods! This motivates connect with WWOOF.

The experiences that I cannot do in Japan and meeting many people will be wonderful for me. And I am also interested in animals and nature, so working as a Wwoofer in Australia would be the best way for me.

I've been working in Melbourne for the last month and would like to get the chance to see some more rural places in WA. I hope wwofing will give me the chance to experience a bit of farm life in Australia and see some more of the unique nature that it has to offer.

There are 3 reasons why I participate in WWOOF. First of all, they provide free meals and accommodation. It is very attractive that food and accommodation are free for experiencing various things overseas. It is grateful that I can spend money on a lot of experiences by keeping the cost of living low. Second of all, it is that I can improve my English skills by living with native speakers. I may get along with host’s family and have a second family in Australia. Spend all day in native speaker environment and improve my English skills. I can fully experience the countryside of Australia. Third of all, I am interested in agriculture. The other day, I watched an agricultural feature on Japanese television and then, I became interested in agriculture. I think that my life will be rich by experiencing agriculture. I’m looking forward to farming in Australia.

I see WOOFing as a 'try-before-you-buy' opportunity and to backup my beliefs and knowledge with experience. I would like an insight into self-sufficiency and a sustainable lifestyle, as I can see myself owning land one day. I want to gain a variety of skills in organic gardening/permaculture, woodwork and sustainable building methods and animal care (and just about anything relevant to living off the land). I hope by doing so I can nurture my creative and productive sides which I have neglected in recent years. I look forward to meeting like-minded people who can help me on my journey to a simpler life!

As I mention I am in addition to my bachelor in environmental science, pursuing a global studies certificate with a concentration of world ecologies and French. I was speaking to my advisor, who oversees all students working towards this certificate, and she recommended I give woofing a shot. She thought I was a perfect fit for this kind of opportunity and pointed me right this way. After some research, I have found myself eager to start this process.

The main reason I joined wwoof was to experience the real australian way of life on a farm in a more familial kind of way, not on a big industrial farm. For me it's not about earning a lot of money, it's more about learning new ways of working and thinking. That's mainly why I joined wwoof, to support small farms, get to know new people and make some lifelong memories.

I need to reconnect to nature and working with my hands- I want a simpler life for a bit, I've been traveling all over the U.S. playing music and I need a change of pace. My sister and her 2 year old baby turned me onto WWOOFing and we'd like to work together! I'm hoping to slow down, focus on the task at hand, and work on writing/recording an album in my spare time. I believe that more local, natural produce is always better than factory farms and trucking stuff hundreds and thousands of miles away to be artificially ripened. And I relish the idea of trading my time for tangible returns, like food and shelter- bit tired of the chase of money at the moment.

During my exchange year in the USA in 2017, which I spent living with a local family, I discovered how valuable the contact with new people from a different country and culture is. It gives me a lot of joy to get to experience different views on the world and learn from people with a totally different background and life as my own. This is a huge reason why I decided to join WWOOF. I see this as a huge opportunity to get to meet new people and learn more about this country from the perspective of locals. I would also love to share about my culture and the life in Germany. I think doing WWOOF can be a great exchange of culture and language in general. I also take this as a chance to try out new jobs and things I have never done before because that is what brings me joy. 🙂

We want to join wwoof because we both really think that the principle of helping each other is important and should be encouraged. Also, we both believe in sustainable living and want to work to support that as well as learn how to realize it.

I joined WWOOF because it is an easy way to travel around the world and helping other people with their work. And of course, I am also looking forward to get to know Australia’s culture. To add, I hope I meet many other people and build new connections while working together!

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
