I was born and grew up in rural area of big city in Japan. I got hooked on camping in Japan a few years ago and am drawn to the idea of living in nature. In the future, I hope to live an organic life while coexisting in the city and suburbs in my hometown. Therefore, I would like to learn lives of organic famers, experience various lifestyles, and challenge myself to live in close contact with nature in environments and cultures.

In exchange for free room and board and complimentary meals, work and assist the land or any other chores the host requests as a volunteer, that sounds awesome to me, doesn’t it? The reason, why I joined WWOOF, is that I really like the idea of getting the opportunity to travel the world and experience different cultures with the help of this program. It’s exactly what I was looking for. Living on a farm, getting in contact with the locals, get to know farm life, animals and plants better, acquire more and more skills,… these are goals I’m looking forward to. And last but not least, having a good time with hopefully beautiful people as hosts. Laugh, live and share great moments together, that’s what I’m dreaming about and that’s the reason I’ve joined WWOOF.

I participated in this program because I wanted to experience firsthand a variety of experiences and interactions. By participating in this program, I hope to experience joys and pains that I cannot understand only from the information I hear from others, and to enhance the value of my life.

I’m really interested in applying my knowledges in sustainable projects and permaculture design. I would like to spend my days open air and in contact with nature. I am an active, sporty person and I like physical work. I’m an easy going and open minded girl who loves staying in the middle of nature, taking care of animals and plants. I like to bring my knowledge and my help to the others, sharing my time with them and learning other cultures.

I used wwoof every time i entered a new country. Its great to get yourself set up/ not be lost but work right away and to experience the culture. So once again I am looking for someone thats willing to host me for a couple of weeks. Reviews from my previous stays: New Zealand: "Hard working, great work ethics" Florian and Jonah were with us for around 6 weeks. Hard working, strong, energetic, great work ethics and a high standard of all jobs completed. They did tree cutting, firewood, painting, and helped building a deck and a sauna. They always achieved very good results. Dream WWOOFers. Thx for everything, Flo and Jonah. I hope you'll have a great time in Aotearoa! 2nd Stay in New Zealand: Flo was just the most fabulous helper! Very competent with chainsaw firewood work and wood splitting, super helpful with any job with an incredibly positive attitude. I can't recommend Flo highly enough to any Helpx host. An intelligent and sensitive man with an open mind, I introduced him to playing the ukulele, which he has been enjoying. Working outside in a southerly gale with no complaints, as he has worked at -40degrees in Canada. He and his friend Jonah helped a number of households in the village, we all appreciated their mid-winter help!We welcome Flo back in the Summer sometime!

We hope to learn more about small farming techniques that are eco-friendly and sustainable and immerse ourselves in Australian culture. We have missed living with animals as college students and want to nurture our love for them after graduation. We are also looking to settle in more rural Australian areas with intermittent, short trips into cities.

I joined as it seems like a great opportunity to do valuable work and be able to explore other parts of Australia at the same time, a perfect combination as a backpacker.

I want to expand my knowledge on sustainable farming practices but I am also happy to help out in any other area if there is help needed with maintenance of the property etc. Even though I am not sure yet what I want to do in terms of career and might not end up with farming on a “professional level”, I want to be able to grow my on food on a small piece of land once I settle.

I hope to learn more about farming in general and fall into a more eco-friendly and slow lifestyle. I have spent the last couple weeks on a friend’s farm in FNQ but it isn’t registered with WWOOF nor is there anyone to teach me as much as I would like to learn, and I want to continue to expand my knowledge more in a more structured way. I am interested in the farming way of life and living in a way that works alongside nature and the natural world, instead of harming it. I also would like to come back to Australia one day, and in order to do so I need to complete my 88 days of rural work (which I have about 20 or so done already).

A friend told me about WWOOF when I mentioned I wanted to travel and work around Australia. She did it for a while, loved it. Sounded right up my alley.
