When I was in Japan, really into wine and food pairing. Also I have the license of registrant dietitian, then interested in organic food and wine. I tried to grow some vegetables without any chemicals at my home though it was very difficult to grow up. Therefore I would love to learn how to make them and meet many people who like nature, food and wine:)

First of all, the reason why I joined WWOOF is to learn about overseas culture more. While taking English conversation lessons with many teachers who are from abroad, I feel the difference of culture. This experience made me more interested in the overseas cultures. I think WWOOF is the best way to learn them. Second, I would like to experience the work of agriculture. Until now, I have no experience in agriculture. In this WWOOF, I would like to learn how ingredients around me are mede.

I've always enjoyed traveling and meeting new people and love the idea of seeing what wonderful farming and living environments people are creating. It excites me to think I could be just a small part of fulfilling other people dreams! I would like to gain knowledge of how people succeed particularly in commercial farming while doing so in a sustainable and environmentally sensitive manner. I'm also wanting to relocate and spend time closer to grandchildren so woofing is an opportunity to explore different areas and a warmer climate. Interested to learn more about grafting trees, seed collection, value adding to produce, livestock husbandry, and living off the grid. Also I've wanted to learn how to weld.

I choose to join WWOOF as I am very curious about what beautiful farms I could come across in Australia. Living so close in touch with nature, living and learning from her exists me. Being able to help out where needed is what I am looking for. I am a very adaptable yet independent person who loves immersing herself in something new. Living on farms allows one to learn something new every day. I would love to gain more experience on living on different farms around Australia.

I registered again because it was fun to use WWOOF in Korea. My experiences in WWOOF Korea are agricultural work and Japanese culture classes. I want to gain more experience before I start looking for a job.

I'm hoping through wwoofing this summer to find a number of homes where i can settle in and connect with the land, connect with other humans, but also potentially find some quiet retreat time, to focus on meditation and creative projects, and to take some time for self-reflection upon my life course

I’m very interested in organic farming and would like to become an organic farmer in the future in Australia. Thus, I want to gain experience and knowledge to make that dream come true. I did a year of agricultural training in QLD in 2022 at Agave farm. At that time, I learned about Australian soil, water, weather and nature. I have enjoyed my lifestyles in Australia to the fullest during that agricultural training, and want to spend more time in Australia in future while learning new things. Therefore, I started looking for the places where I can learn about the organic farming and improve my agricultural skills. Finally, I get to know about the WWOOF where I can gain knowledge about the organic farming. In addition, Australia is also committed to wildlife and nature conservation, so I would like to learn not only about agriculture, but also about environmental protection, such as how to protect and coexist with wildlife and how to deal with bushfires, which is not easy to learn in Japan. Not only do I want to learn, but I also want to let you know about Japanese culture and food. I’m very much looking forward to spend time with your group.

Before I start work, I want to gain some experience outside of an urban environment. I'm curious to explore alternate lifestyles, particularly lifestyles that are harmonious with nature and animals. I currently live in Singapore, where this harmony with nature is very much lacking! So I'm keen to meet new people and learn about their lives and experiences, especially with regard to living a non-urban and sustainable life.

We have a desire to work on a farm, as we would like to have a broader understanding of an area of work we do not have the biggest knowledge of. At the same time, we are interested in the green transition, as well as what it entails in connection with agriculture, as well as which measures you as a farmer must implement, or have implemented, so that agriculture can become greener.

We joined WWOOF in Australia because we are seeking a unique cultural and immersive experience in a foreign country. While we may not have real experience in certain techniques, we are captivated by the idea of living and working with locals, learning about their way of life, and connecting with nature. One of the main reasons we chose Wwoof in Australia for this experience was its diverse and stunning landscapes, as well as its rich and vibrant culture. WWOOF provides a fantastic platform to accomplish these goals by allowing us to work on different farms all across the country. Moreover, joining WWOOF offers the opportunity to forge meaningful connections with likeminded individuals who share a passion for travel and adventure as well. It must be fascinating to meet people from many different spheres of life, including fellow travelers, farmers, and environmental enthusiasts. By living and working with the host families, we can learn about their way of life, traditions, and their connection to the land. Furthermore, we want to contribute to the society and economy during our stay in Australia. Because of Wwoof this is possible. Whether it is planting trees, feeding animals, farming, rescuing turtles or helping during flood disasters, we hope that through such activities we can not only broaden our horizons, but also help in various areas.

Mainly there are two reasons why I would join WWOOF. Initially, as I mentioned previously in ‘About me’, I’m left more 2months to go back to my country and looking for something to do. Exactly, I could stay in Sydney and hang out with my friends, but I don’t think it’s the best choice for me while I stay here. I might as well try to new things that I’ve never experienced in my life. This one is one of the reason why I joined WWOOF. Another reason is that I’m curious about working in farms and hopefully I would undergo working there and acquire a bunch of knowledge about farming. After I come back to my country, I admire to get a job for a Japanese company which is related to food trading industry. If I join WWOOF and work as a farmer, it’s definitely going to be meaningful experience for my career. These are primary reasons why I joined WWOOF. Thanks.

#1. Chi-ho Chun (Holy) I think this whole society system is broken. We should spend what we actually need. But the governments and companies are seeing only in economic ways, encouraging people to buy the stuffs that they don’t need. And this situation has been sustaining for long time and as a result it damages the environment and people themselves. I want to pursue the lifestyle that consume the product that I need and minimize the consumption. In order to achieve this lifestyle, I thought, “I have to be able to produce what I eat,” so I supported WWOOF. --------------------------------------------------------------- #2. Ga-heun Kim (Moly) I have played WWOOFing twice in South Korea, twice in Germany, three times in France, and four times in Italy. I have learned a lot by visiting various farms and meeting farmers. The reality was so different from learning at the desk. I think it's only farmers who can tell the story of agriculture more realistically than anyone else and teach the philosophy that came from firsthand experience. I think WWOOF is the only way to learn their thoughts and philosophy by meeting farmers in person, working together, and eating together. I want to be a farmer in the future and build my own farm. But there are real problems to be solved. I want to learn from farmers, not from books or professors, how to think about the problem and how to approach it. I'm especially interested in organic farming and how to sustainably operate small farms. I'm interested in organizing a community, but what I'm most interested in is a family-run farm. Also, I think it's quite difficult to live as a farmer. There's a lot of work, it's physically difficult, and on the other hand, there's not enough financial compensation. But yet, for me, who wants to be a farmer, I want to talk to you about the reasons why you live your life as a farmer and how you balance work and life together. If you are curious about the experience of WWOOFing in South Korea and Europe, I’m able to share that with you. My story is ready, why don't we meet if your story is ready?

I really like the concept of WWOOF and I am happy to do it again now because I had only amazing experiences when in New Zealand! I would like to learn new things and just help where help is needed in exchange for a place to stay:)

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
