As a first-year student in a Bachelor of Science program, specialising in regenerative agriculture, I am deeply passionate about sustainable farming practices. I believe that regenerative and organic farming not only produces healthy, nutritious food, but also has the power to heal our planet. In my current role as an emergency service officer, I work a demanding swing roster of 6 days on and 8 days off. During my time off, I would love nothing more than to volunteer on regenerative and organic farms. I believe that hands-on experience working with farmers who share my values would not only enhance my education but also fulfill my desire to contribute to a greater cause. By volunteering on these farms, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of regenerative agriculture and contribute to the movement towards a more sustainable future. I am excited about the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals who share my passion for healthy food and a healthier planet.

My interest in WWOOF stems from a genuine desire to transcend the ordinary and delve into the heart of Australian rural living. Eager to broaden my horizons, I am drawn to the prospect of acquiring a diverse set of skills through hands-on experiences on a farm. WWOOF not only represents an opportunity to explore the picturesque countryside but also serves as a gateway to cultivating a deeper connection with the land and acquiring invaluable insights into sustainable living practices. Excited by the prospect of contributing to the farming community, I am ready to embark on a journey that promises personal growth, cultural enrichment, and the acquisition of new skills amidst the breathtaking backdrop of Australia's countryside.

I would like to get to know Australian farm work and since I can't apply for a Work and Holiday visa, this seemed like the best way to still be able to work in Australia

When I heard about WWOOF from a friend, it sounded interesting, because I am a person who likes to try new things and I was wondering how I will spend the time in Australia. As I grew up in the countryside, I was near to the farmers. My family don't have a farm, but my sister and I are planting some vegetables in our garden. After my time at the language school I want to see different parts of the country and the daily life, therefore WWOOF seems to be varied and convenient way for a part of my holidays.

I joined WWOOF because I really like the idea of farming in a way that's good for the environment. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and learn about organic farming from real farmers. Also, I thought it would be cool to live with different people in different places, experiencing their way of life and traditions. I saw it as a chance to pick up practical skills in farming and gardening. The adventure part was exciting too—I wanted a break from my usual routine and the big cities, ready explore new places. Plus, being part of a small community of people who care about the same things seemed like a great way to make friends. Overall, WWOOF felt like a perfect fit for my passion for eco-friendly living and a chance to learn while having fun.

I have dedicated the  prior 11 years of  my life  to being the best Doctor I can to serve my community in Chicago, Illinois, USA. It is my time in life to learn, and cultivate and preserve. I want to give back to this earth and the beautiful creations it has created. This is what brings me to WWOOF.

Experience local agriculture and meet new people during this period. I am hoping to discover new land and culture. Seeking an alternative life style other than corporates in metropoles. I believe sharing is caring ☺️

I'm joining wwoof to find different work experiences that will allow me to work and live in Australia. In fact, my cousin went woofing 2 years ago and since then I've been dreaming of having a similar experience in Australia. I hope that when I join wwoof I'll be able to find someone who'll see to it that I work for him.

As I lived in Japan, I became concerned about food self-sufficiency. I also know Japan is notorious for using many additives, including substances banned in some countries. Japan has WWOOF and other great services, but they are not well known. Through my club activities and part-time jobs, I had many opportunities to help farmers. Everyone took pride in their work. I respect their attitude to engage in hard but rewarding work. Australia is a major agricultural country. I hear that people are also putting a lot of effort into organic farming. I would like to experience Australian agriculture for myself. I hope that I enjoy working with abundant nature and talking nice and motivated people.

My journey into sustainable agriculture started with a WWOOF experience in Jarrhandale, WA back in 2013. Since then, I've been hooked on organic farming and now I'm looking to expand my knowledge and skills in regenerative practices.

Looking to find a nice peaceful place to work and rest my head. I would love to learn how to work with livestock and how to sustainably live in nature and have my own food supply.

I joined Wooff to broaden my horizons and contribute to the agriculture in my hometown. I grew up surrounded by rice fields and fresh vegetables. I'm so proud of the beautiful scenery and delicious food in my hometown that I want to help preserve it for the future. However, it is often said that Japanese agriculture and rural areas have many problems and are becoming increasingly doomed. This is very sad, but because of my lack of experience of going abroad, I do not know how much Japan's agriculture and rural areas are threatened. I suppose that my experience of agriculture and rural areas in Australia will give me some clues to clarify both the good and bad points of Japanese agriculture. During my stay, I would like to think about what is needed in my hometown. Also, during the homestay, I would like to improve my English by talking to farmers and family members.

I thought about lots of different possibilites to go abroad, for example AuPair, a language travel, etc. But I finally found something that fulfills my expectations, is within a very responsible price rage and helps me implement my moral values towards the environment in a different way . I'm convinced WWOOFing is the best way to get to know the culture and residents of Australia, which I am really looking forward to 🙂

After I've finished my German Highschool I headed towards Australia and joined WWOOF because I wanted to experience the relaxed and easy going Australian life first hand and learn a lot of new useful stuff apart from the only theoretical world I've had in Highschool.

We joined wwoof because we would like to experience Australia not just from a tourist's point of view. We think that living and working with hosts is an incredible opportunity to get to know people, make friends, exchange values and experiences. Taking care of gardens, animals and living in a community is something we also want share with our children.

I love agriculture, and I'd like to experience it firsthand with various types of crops and cultivation. Additionally, I'd like to interact with people who are interested in agriculture. I also want to experience Australian life and culture. My purpose for participating in WWOOF is to get to know Australian agriculture and its people, and to learn more about what Australia has to offer.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
