I know WWOOF from 2000, when I travel to England. Between September 2000 and 2002 I worked on Radform Mill Farm an organic farm managed by Sue Seymour in that time, host in WWOOF England. Also we did this in Canada for one month in 2007, in Bod Dobson Farm, near Ottawa. I like WWOOF because you get a real experience, meet local people, live in nice atmosphere surrounding of nature, organic food and sustainable lifestyle and it's a more sustainable way to travel.

To help our boys learn about and appreciate nature and sustainable and self-sufficient food production. To help out on farms and experience more of our country. To give back a little, after a life time of eating food produced by others! We do hope to have our own little block of land one day and want to learn more to make that work.

I joined WWOOF to be exposed to a wide variety of farms and learn more about the ways in which people approach organic agriculture. I am particularly interested in seeing established farms with environmentally conscious or creative approaches. Understanding the early challenges that someone faces in establishing an agricultural system is also of interest to me. I have chosen to learn through WWOOF because the shorter timeline allows for more variety than traditional agriculture jobs. I also value the hands-on learning that WWOOFing offers over reading and online courses. My sister is attending the university of Melbourne and I’m excited to spend a few days with her before of after my WWOOF stay.

We joined WWOOF so that we could get the opportunity to meet people who require some extra help. As we’re travelling around Australia it will help us find somewhere to stay on our travels and in return we know we can provide our hard working ethic

Visiting Australia has always been a dream of mine, since watching a documentary about the continent as a small kid. Originally I wanted to visit Australia after graduating college in 2020 but then covid hit. So Iloked for a job in electrical engineering. After working for about 2,5 years I started to realize that working in an office doen´t work for me. I like to spend time outdoor get stuff done, not sit in front of a computer. I decided to joined this program as sort of a "sabatical" and to figure out, what I want to do in the future. Furthermore I would like to get better at english, since my english knowledge degraded a bit since I graduated college. Also I hope to get to know new people and the lifestyle in Australia and the difference to the lifestyle in Austria. It would also be my first time travelling to a whole other continent alone, so that too will be an amazing experience.

Joined WWOOF as I have 4 spare days around Agnes Water/Rockhampton and thought I’d give this a go after being recommended by a friend. I’m willing to get stuck in and help with whatever needs doing it’ll be a nice change from the typical touristy things I’ve been doing and a great way to meet actual locals!

I want to do what I can to remember our original humanity by living with nature trough WWOOFing experiences. It would be nice to exchange our skills and gift each other.

I plan to start my travelling adventure in Australia and hope to visit Japan too. I chose Australia because it’s so very different from where I live in Germany, I’m interested in the culture and I have friends there that I made when they volunteered with our family. What I like about WWOOF is the opportunity to meet new people within the context of their daily lives and experience something of their culture and community.

We are interested in learning more about farming and we love to work in the nature, especially with animals. We think WWOOF is a great organization to meet new people, gain experience and learn more about the Australian lifestyle.

City/Town:
Farming Methods: Biodynamic
Accommodation Type:
My adult special needs daughter, our menagerie of horses, dogs, chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, and myself live on an 18acre hobby farm 17km west of Cowra NSW, where we have dreams of becoming at least partially self sufficient while enjoying the country lifestyle that we in australia are so lucky to have access to. Accomodation is either in the house, or if you have a camper we have power and bathroom available. We also have a cute bus in the process of renovation, so if you are handy, it could be available to stay in.

Although I only stayed in Australia for half a year, I really like the life in Australia that is close to nature. I hope I can integrate into the life of the local people and see the different beauty of Australia.

Le WWOOF va nous permettre de nous enrichir personnellement à travers les personnes qui nous entoure. Nous avons eu des retours sur la bienveillance des hôtes et c’est ce que nous recherchons. The reason I wanted to join WWOOF is because I want to learn how to live life more sustainably and responsibly. As time passes, I’ve noticed that I am becoming more and more dependent on materialistic and superficial things. Therefore, WWOOF is the prime opportunity for me to learn how to appreciate what truly matters in life. Furthermore, I’ve always had an appreciation of the agriculture and farming industry, since my household also took part in strawberry farming, I understand how difficult it is to run a farm. Which is why I would like to lend a hand when possible to those who need help, in exchange for the opportunity to meet new people and learn from their way of life. I hope to become a more environmentally responsible person after my experiences with WWOOF, as well as gain a more profound understanding and appreciation of the Australian organic farming industry.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
