We are in australia for two months and thought that wwoof will be a good way to experience australia through the people who live here. we also love to try new things and hope to learn lots of different skills. we are not on a working visa so thought that wwoof would be a good way to have the work type lifestyle that we wouldn’t have been able to experience here otherwise.

I was born and raised on a small island. Lately, living close to nature has sparked my interest in self-sufficiency. My grandparent's generation used to raise livestock and cultivated fields. But nowadays, hardly anyone does. I want to reduce the environmental burden by practicing self-sufficiency. So I want to learn about farming and the lifestyle associated with it through Wwoof.

In addition to missing the voluntary work I did in Brazil, as a way of helping others and mainly for personal growth, with all the experiences, life stories and knowledge acquired, I am looking to complete my 88 days to renew my visa

G'day everyone, we are a French/Australian family located in North East Victoria, 3h by train from Melbourne. We run a permaculture garden to supply our cafe and when we have excess produce, we put it on a share table where the community can donate what they can. We also have chickens, guinea pigs and bees. Our modest house is also where the garden is located. Within a 5 mins walk you can be at our cafe as well as our wholesale bakery. There we also operate a mill for all the wheat for our bakery.

I joined WWOOF for several reasons. First, I want to discover the farming lifestyle and learn more about organic and sustainable agriculture. By working directly on farms, I hope to gain practical skills and a better understanding of environmentally friendly farming practices. Additionally, I see WWOOF as a unique opportunity to meet like-minded people and have an enriching cultural and human experience. Working and living with local hosts will allow me to fully immerse myself in Australian culture and better understand the daily lives of farmers. Finally, I chose to join WWOOF to improve my English in an authentic context. Interacting daily with English speakers in a work environment will allow me to practice the language intensively and significantly improve my language skills.

Emma : I joined WWOOF with the desire to have enriching farming experiences, and share my skills. To explore a different way of life in a foreign country, embracing a more rural experience, and, above all, to spend time with animals, which are my passion ! My goal is also to contribute to sustainable practices and engage with passionate hosts. Jade : I want to get involved with WOOF so that I can meet people with a wealth of knowledge and discover new practices. Australia is a new destination for me. I'd like to discover a new culture, completely different from my own, while helping out. It's important for me to meet new people and contribute to sustainable practices.

I joined WWOOF because I think it is a great opportunity for backpackers to save some money and experience the Aussie lifestyle while getting a little break from the travelling. Don’t get me wrong - I love travelling and seeing what Australia has to offer but it is also nice to get a little break every now and then. I already stayed with a family for a while and really enjoyed the time I had with them. Hopefully I can add more nice experiences like this to my list by joining this program. I am looking forward to it!

I expect from my experience in woofing to discover a new culture, new ways of working. Woofing interests me for sharing and discovery. It is also the opportunity to be able to travel and move to different cities in order to observe new landscapes.

Chloé arrived in Sydney in March 2024 for a 4 month thesis research programm. I (Hugo) arrived in June to spent the holidays with her. So, we are planning to move around Australia for July and August. We plan on following the East coast through Brisbane, the Great Barrier Reef, and then heading into the bush towards Alice Springs, Uluru and Darwin... We are looking for places to do woofing because, after spending a few months in the city hustle and bustle, we would like to spent the rest of our trip mainly in more natural surroundings. We prefer being in nice areas, meeting and interacting with local people, helping with local life or in the garden So we'll be happy to help you in exchange for a place to sleep and eat. Chloé will still need to continue working on her thesis redaction a few hours per day (1 to 2h/day), but as she did the same in mountain refuge work, she can combine the two, like half the day helping you and the other half working on her thesis. Hope to hear from you soon 🙂 Chloé&Hugo

We would like to experience the real Australia on our trip, make ourselves usefull and e.g. gain more farm experience, while also meeting new people. WWOOF-ing seems like a perfect way to do that. One of Tali's goals in Australia was to become a better handyman or gain experience in construction/maintenance on a cattle farm or holiday park. He definitely gained some skills while camping in Australia. Yvette would like to learn more about organic practices, vineyards or working with/around animals. However, we are broadly interested and are open for other experiences too. We are fast learners and are not afraid of getting a bit dirty.

I joined WWOOF because I am enthusiastic about sustainable living and organic farming. I hope to learn more about eco-friendly agricultural practices and contribute to the growth of sustainable communities. WWOOFing provides a unique opportunity to combine my love for gardening with my passion for travel and learning new skills. I am looking forward to connecting with hosts, sharing experiences, and making a positive impact through meaningful work.
