I love all things horticultural and grow a lot of produce in the short growing season here in Scotland. I also keep bees. I woofed last year in Japan and loved it. I am super hard working and willing to give any task a go.

My name is Sophie, and I’m from Germany. I’m currently traveling and WWOOFing in Australia, excited to immerse myself in Australian culture and meet new people along the way. During this chapter of my life, I’m eager to embrace new challenges and push myself beyond my comfort zone.

I joined WWOOF because I was using workaway and love volunteering but wanted to specifically see which farming jobs were available in Australia. It seems a bit less cluttered.

I am trying to gain more experience in cultivating on smale scale farms. As well as just learn more about growing vegtabels and tending to livestock. I just started to miss getting my Hands into soil.

I’m joining WWOOF to gain experience across Australia, exploring new areas of work and just to try new things. I hope that this experience will broaden my horizons and introduce me to different ways of life, around Australia. Overall I hope to build my confidence and gain new, exciting skill sets.

Created a fully fledged productive domestic vege garden, food forest, bee hive sanctuary and fruit orchard on a 6acre property...it was bloody hard work and amazing good fun, loved it! Happy to immerse myself in more gardening and learn wisdoms from established practitioners of organic, bio-dynamic, no-till, regenerative, regrarian, permaculture, syntropic, Demeter, Indigenous and any other wholistic farming and sacred economy practices.

We joined for new experiences and a chance to meet cool likeminded individuals. We love working with animals and farms and have a bit of a background with both. We are open to learning as much as possible and broadening our knowledge further. I think we’d be a great asset to your farm for a few weeks 🙂

To gain experience in basic farm work, whilst being able to enjoy beautiful views of the country side. My absolute goal would be to work on a cattle station one day, but I have ver little experience. Volunteering, living away from home, and being put to work will help me at least get my foot in the door for whether it’s something I’d like to do, while getting accustomed to work!

We want to learn new things in life and gain experience in another country. We love getting to know new people, especially if they can teach us a lot about the country, culture and their way of living. We want to see how life and working in Australia really is which we wont learn by only living in hotels.

I joined Wwoof because in relation to my work visa, I saw that there was a lot of agitation for work on the huge farms of Australia. It made me notice that it makes more sense to learn things and techniques to develop a more autonomous way of life and less impactful for biodiversity than to work on huge monoculture farms. It makes more sense to work with people who are passionate and who want to pass on their knowledge. On big farms, the only goal is to make money as quickly as possible, without looking at anything else and it's disgusting. I have always loved gardening and I want to learn new things and sustainable techniques, while meeting new people and discovering this Australian culture. Eating well and taking care of our environment, that must be the basis! I really hope I can help you with your projects.

I have joined WWOOF for many reasons, here are some - - To help out and learn how to collaborate with producers of high quality, natural, sustainable products and services. To learn more about the culture of Australia and its regions. - To explore our country with purpose, continue my learning on the ground, continue with learning about my great great grandfather (Commissioner of the Pastoral Society in the late 1800s in South Australia. He was also a member of parliamentarians who wrote our constitution and a published poet of which I have two of his books, one being him leading a trek up to the MacDonald Ranges in the NT.) - To learn more about organic farming and other sustainable practices. My passion is bringing TCIM with Workplace Health and Safety, and Environment. When I return to Uni, I plan to continue a Research Plan course I had started before having to move out from a mould rental, for the current and future impact of TCIM in the Workplace. - To be able to keep my two buddies, Blackie (8yo Kelpie) and Brownie (6yo Kelpie x Rottweiller, Blackie's son) with me on our adventure of life (I am hoping I can find places to enable that). - My son is in year 12 in 2025 at Sunshine Coast Grammar. I have lived on the Sunshine Coast since 2006, and whilst I was born in Sydney and could return their with family and friends network, I want to travel, but I still want to be relatively close to him and attend important events. I am a doer, and very keen to work alongside property owners to achieve their goals. - Being a WWOOFer in Australia will benefit the planned undergraduate and business trip I have to India once my son has completed high school. I will also be more knowledgeable to visit the International Research Centre for TCIM in Gujarat (set up in 2023).

A while ago I met a lovely Australian lady who told me if I really want to get to know Australia the best way to do it is to get out to the farms. I would love to help out and get to know Australian culture a bit better and gain some experience. Furthermore I am looking to do my 88 days work to apply for a second year visa, so I am trying to get more experience to be a better help.

We recently got married and decided to pause our lives in Edinburgh to gain some practical farm experience in Australia. We are both hoping to pick up some skills that may make us more employable within the agricultural industry but also with a view to having our own smallholding somewhere, at some point. We’re particularly interested in gaining experience in cattle station work, livestock, viticulture, forestry/silviculture, fencing, and machinery/tractor operation…but we’ll get stuck into any jobs which need doing.

We joined WWOOF because we want to explore what it is to produce food we eat everyday. By doing so in Australia, we can also gain cultural and language experience. We don't have any firming experience so we'd like to take this opportunity to explore and have more understanding. I'm hoping WWOOFing will be a great eye opening experience for my daughter.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
