I’d like to have more experiences in farms and travel around Australia. I like to work and share with people. I’d like to meet more farms and work with people similar to me. In this moment I’m doing farming in Toowoomba but I’m keen to meet another farm for the next month.

I want to meet new people and discover new cultures.Living with people is, for me, the best way to improve in English. But also to gain autonomy and independence.

Here's the truth: I grew up in the country side, all of our neighbours were farmers, so I have some really nice souvenirs with the animals - I remember giving food to the chickens and the pigs - and running and hiding in the corn fields... Now, I am 29, and I am sure that I feel better in the country side than in the city, but I've never worked in a farm, and I feel the deep need of learning. I need to know where my beautiful food come from. I need to get my hands dirty to feel closer with the world - plants, animals and people - who nourrish me since I was born. And to be totally honnest: I don't care about earning a lot of money, as long as I can have a roof on my head and something good to put in my stomach! So, I think Wwoofing is perfect 🙂

I would like to learn techniques with a self-sufficiency perspective based on three axes: an alternative economic model, a prominent place given to ecology and active community life. This is why going to a farm in Australia developing these concepts interests me. I would also like to improve my English. Finally I would like to see great white sharks because they fascinate me as much as they scare me.

Experience more rural life in Aus and connecting with likeminded people. Have enjoyed previous WWOOF experiences around the world, appreciate seeing different places people have created in a natural way that works with the environment. Will be travelling and looking for hosts who would also be able to accommodate 2 kelpies, very well behaved and I have been working sheep with them as a hobby for past 2 years.

City/Town:
Farming Methods: Organic
Accommodation Type: In Our Home
‘Wangina’ (Aboriginal word for Creator Spirit) is situated 26 kms from Orange and is a 395HA bush sanctuary with an alternative energy house, catering for 3-4 people. A ‘sea’ of trees awaits you, & native animals, 2 friendly Alpacas, Chanty & Little John. Volunteering includes establishing a Permaculture garden, fruit tree maintenance, weeding, animal care, woodcarting and building projects. Due to the isolation, we prefer male WWOOFers or a couple. We can accommodate WWOOFers in a house in town rather than at the farm. No children. Mixed diet. Non-smokers only. Negotiable stays after initial visit.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
