I wanted to connect with locals as I'm essentially a tourist for three weeks in Australia and I wanted to volunteer with my friend who's also coming with me here. My friend told me about WWOOF and I thought it was an awesome idea to join to hopefully make lasting memories with him and people I'll meet while I'm there.

We decided to join WWOOF because it seemed like the perfect blend of adventure and meaningful work and aligns with our values! After years of studying biology and environmental science in classrooms, we’re ready to step outside, experience real farm life, and learn in a hands-on way. We’re excited to meet passionate hosts, hear their stories, and be part of their day-to-day. It’s a fun opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to sustainable living, and make some great memories along the way!

We live on 4 acres (about 1.5 hectares) with our big friendly dog Elvis, our rescue tabby cat, a large vegetable garden, many different fruit trees, and livestock for meat and eggs (cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens). Ad works in IT from home and is pretty busy with that, so you will mainly be assisting Tinker with the farm work.

I have been dreaming of coming back to wwoof families with my son.He is now 6yo and really interested in farm life.

Our Place:  We (Jane and Aaron) are hosting a tiny experience from Australian miniature goats, miniature donkeys, miniature ponies (Pepper and Spice) and Aussie White sheep. The hobby farm is situated at Copping, SE coast of Tasmania en route to Port Arthur and 20 minutes from rural town, Sorell.  5 minutes from our place is beautiful beach Marion Bay beach. The property is a mix of pasture, trees and small vegie gardens. There is a tiny home that is used as an Airbnb and a family friendly cottage that we are renovating at present. The farm has 1 friendly border collie. What we offer and what is involved:  We would like to share our time and your time spending with the animals and helping to keep the farm maintained so the animals have the best home possible. This involves brushing the animals, (more like a scratch) hanging out with the animals to aid in human contact, feeding, manure picking up, gardening, pasture management, weeding and general odd jobs. If your a competent horse rider this would be an advantage. Accommodation:  There is a fully equipped bus (shower +toilet+ oven+sink+ queen bed), modern design, dry and tidy.   Plenty of storage and your own garden if your stay is long term.

HELLO! We are a non-profit eco farm situated on over 550 acres in Australia’s picturesque Hunter Valley, renowned for its vineyards and natural beauty. Our focus is to care for our environment and to give shelter and protection to our 60 cows and various other animals and birds for the natural duration of their lives. We practice organic farming and mindful sustainable living. Our community consists of dedicated Krishna devotees who are excited to be building something meaningful while cultivating a happy, meditative, spiritual lifestyle. We would love you to be part of our community for a little or a long while. Our farm is based on the teachings of bhakti yoga (the yoga of divine love), part of an ancient Indian spiritual philosophy, which emphasizes selfless service and respect for Mother Earth and all species of life. We practice love and non-violent behaviour to all.

The Urban Farmer Blue Mountains - Co-Creating a Creative Space for Community to Connect. This space is in the throes of design, construction and planting. Full steam ahead over the next few weeks, so I'm getting REALLY eXciTeD. If you have any knowledge of permaculture design, landscaping, garden design - please let me know. I need help enhancing the existing design. We are ramping up / tidying up / putting finishing touches on anything we can to get ready for the upcoming Blue Mountains Edible Garden Trail in October 2025. I can accommodate a couple or 2-3 friends travelling. If there is more than 3 people, hit me up and we will discuss our options. Would Love Love LOVE Your help. The design incorporates a Pond Performance Space (think .. singers, musicians, actors, stand up comics, storytellers and poets), Edible Food Forest (densely planted), Workshop Space, Healing Room, Breakout Areas, Communal Circle with Fire Pit, a Pizza Oven in the Dragon's Lair (it will actually be in her tummy), Bush Tucker Walk / Aboriginal Dreaming, Children's Play Space, Chickens, Worms and Whatever other Creative Pursuits we can collaboratively add. The Zen Space is now going to be in a spiral located on the forest edge, so would love to get that happening before we open as well. Our primary purpose is to teach Permaculture. The space is being set up so that interested parties will be able to teach what they are passionate about. We will build and connect Community through Workshops and Performances which will be offered at a nominal cost.

In many of our travels, we've been inspired by people who build their homes off-grid, sustain themselves with food they grew, and make their communities more loving and resilient. Eventually we'd like to do the same. Wildland fire is a cool job in many ways, but it's taxing on the spirit (we work more hours in 6 months than many do all year). So, while we save up for land of our own, we plan to enjoy the biggest perk of our job: 6 months off to travel and learn. We hope to connect with organic farmers and learn what it takes, exchange stories, make friends, and maybe make some art too. Lots of other firefighters recommended WWOOF, so here we are.

I partly grew up on the countryside, helping on farms since I was little. I have a good amount of experience with horses and have spent recent years helping friends on their hay-milk farm. I love the rhythm of rural life and hands-on work. Living off my savings for a year, I’m excited for a give-and-take experience while WWOOFing.

WWOOF Australia acknowledges the Traditional owners of the land on which we work. We honour the ongoing cultural & spiritual connections, heritage, customs & beliefs of Aboriginal people & pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
