I have just moved to Australia on Work Holiday Visas. We are three friends and really excited to explore the country, meet new people and create new experiences. As we are just starting a new life here, we are hoping to meet some new people and work for WWOOFing as we get our bearings.

We have a small 3-acre hobby farm, situated between Sale and Stratford, in Central Gippsland, Victoria. We have a dog, cat and plan to get chickens again shortly. We host 2 friendly horses on our property for a friend. We have a small vegie patch and an orchard and plenty of tasks to get involved in, including gardening and landscaping, fencing and property tidy up, some painting and plan to build an outdoor bathroom and fire pit. Andrea has a great little pottery studio and Daniel is a keen woodworker and handyman.

We chose to be part of the WWOOFing community because we believe it’s important not only to experience and enjoy the world around us, but also to give something back — whether to the land, the people, or the communities we encounter. To us, WWOOFing represents a beautiful concept: one that brings people together through shared experiences and offers the chance to learn from one another in meaningful and lasting ways. It feels like the perfect opportunity to explore the deeper layers of what makes Australia unique. As two naturally curious and open-minded individuals, we are eager to expand our knowledge wherever we go. WWOOFing offers the ideal environment to learn more about organic farming and the dedication, effort, and passion required to keep such systems thriving. Especially in today’s world — where challenges like climate change, extreme weather events, and ocean acidification are becoming increasingly urgent — we believe it is essential to learn more about how we can work with our natural resources in a sustainable way. Learning sustainable, hands-on practices through WWOOFing could be a step in that direction, and one we are truly excited to take.

I’d love to share time and experiences with persons, and I’d like to meet people. This is why I’m here, not really for money but more to live a human experience, if I can do so while giving a little bit of my time to someone, it’s perfect for me !

I've always felt a special connection to the outdoors, and have been drawn to travel since I was a kid. When I was fourteen I begged my mom to let me start doing summer travel/ community service programs, and went on my first one at fifteen. I've recently WWOOFed on a farm in Hawaii for two months through WWOOF USA, and found the experience to be incredibly fulfilling. At this point in my life I'm looking to move out of Los Angeles, where I grew up, and want to travel and experience different places! I think that the experience of being a WOOFer is incredibly unique, and I've been very fortunate to meet a lot of wonderful people through the organization! I'd be very thankful to get to have the experience again.

I wanted to connect with locals as I'm essentially a tourist for three weeks in Australia and I wanted to volunteer with my friend who's also coming with me here. My friend told me about WWOOF and I thought it was an awesome idea to join to hopefully make lasting memories with him and people I'll meet while I'm there.

We decided to join WWOOF because it seemed like the perfect blend of adventure and meaningful work and aligns with our values! After years of studying biology and environmental science in classrooms, we’re ready to step outside, experience real farm life, and learn in a hands-on way. We’re excited to meet passionate hosts, hear their stories, and be part of their day-to-day. It’s a fun opportunity to connect with nature, contribute to sustainable living, and make some great memories along the way!

We live on 4 acres (about 1.5 hectares) with our big friendly dog Elvis, our rescue tabby cat, a large vegetable garden, many different fruit trees, and livestock for meat and eggs (cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens). Ad works in IT from home and is pretty busy with that, so you will mainly be assisting Tinker with the farm work.
